Testing anti-spyware programs against a single Grokster install isn't
representative of, for example, browsing on unsafe web sites. It is
well-known that malware that comes in via P2P networks is quite
different than the malware that sneaks past a vulnerable IE. It might
very well be the case that Spybot will be the top program in a test of
malware encountered on a list of 100 of the worst infection web sites.
While this test is interesting and indicative of the usefulness of
further testing, it is not a comprehensive test of anti-malware programs.
I am impressed with Howe's methodology and breadth of testing. I hope he
has the stamina to conduct further tests.
