Can anyone tell me what is Microsoft Virtual Machine and how do I determine if I really need to use the security update Microsoft Virtual Machine #816093?

Is Windows Update identifying it as a critical update? If so, yes, you need
it.

Yes, the proper approach is to remove the MS (Java)VM and install the Sun
Java VM. Also consider disabling Java, and only enabling it when you
actually need it for something you want to do.

The original question was..

It was not "Should I be running JavaVM?" If OP is running JavaVM in Win2K,
he should install the update.
