This is really not recommended as the conflicts that can arise between the
two applications will impact your computers performance and reliability.
One possibility is to have something like Stinger
(
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/) stored on a disk somewhere that you could
use for a second opinion during high risk times or if you notice something
odd going on. Just close your normal AV app and run Stinger for the check.
Another alternative you might consider if you are working in an environment
that uses servers as well as workstations is to install one product on the
server and a different one on your workstation that way you get the benefit
of two scanning engines without risking a conflict.
