THESE files? Do you mean the files in C:/system volume information? If so,
the answer is yes, they are probably the most important files you'll find,
at least to the health and usability of your computer. If you did manage do
delete this directory you would find yourself dead in the water -- that is
why they are made inacessible (and invisible) to the typical user. It is
certainly possible to go into the directory as a sysadmin and change things
and MS even tells you how to do so if you do a search in the help
application but if you don't know what you are doing I can't honestly advise
that you monkey with it. If this virus is really quarantined (quarantined by
what? how?) then it should be harmless.
