I thought this was not possible with Verizon. Within the past month I've
had several text message spams come in on my Verizon cell phone -- I have to
pay for these -- can't believe this is legal? I've had the phone for a year
now so I have no idea why within the last month I've started getting spam on
my phone.

We need some enforceable laws against spam, this is getting ridiculous. I
can't believe I have no right to prevent solicitation, spam on my door step,
spam in my Email, spam on web sites, spam on my car, and now spam on my
phone. Why is it Monty Python comes to mind....spam spam spam spam spam...

What is this world coming to? People still buy crap they don't need with or
without spam.

I guess Verizon has just "thrown in the towel". Not much change they will
ever grow now.

Why are you posting your drivel in a MS security newsgroup?

Because I'm coding for SmartPhones and PDAs as one of my many projects in my
queue. I didn't realize that Verizon permitted spam -- this could affect my
project. Is that enough drivel for you or would you like to list all your
swimming certificates also?

Hear, hear.

As a general principle there is no point in having security of any kind
unless it's backed-up by the threat of unpleasant consequences those who try
to bust the security.

In the days of the Pony Express, the mails got through not because the horse
was armorplated (which would have been as useless as most spamfilters are)
but because the potential hijacker didn't relish the idea of swinging from a
tree.

Now Rob,..you're just jealous because mine don't take as long to type them
out. I'd put the in one for my Highschool except I dropped out the middle
of the second year and never graduated,...after I got my drivers license of
course,..I do have my priorities you know. I did learn to spell somewhat,
only because we never had spell checkers back then and the computers all
started with pull-ropes.
