I just upgraded from ME to XP. With ME I could always go
into Explore and then to Temporary Internet Files to see
what my child was going to for web sites. It was a great
way to monitor what he was looking at without him knowing
it. I can not find this folder on my C drive tree
anywhere with XP is it done away with or called something
else now

The temp internet files are located under:
documents and settings folder under user-name then under local settings.
Kind of hidden away under win2000 and XP.

You can also get to this location by opening Internet Explorer, clicking
Tools, Internet Options, then on the General Tab under Temporary Internet
Files click Settings. In the settings dialog there are buttons that you can
click to view files and objects, and this will take you to the correct
folder.

But won't that take him to the location for the Temporary Internet Files under his User ID? If his child has his own User ID (not that uncommon), it's not the same location. He would have to login using his child's ID (not that difficult, I know) to see the correct set of files. In any event I'm not sure that really accomplishes his purpose since IE has a setting that will empty the Temporary Internet Files when the browser is closed. Maybe his child isn't smart enough to turn this on, but if he is there won't be any tracks there to follow. I suggest a better approach would be to simply go in and view the History panel (again, you might have to login with his child's ID; I'm not sure.); that should show you all the url's the child has been to (unless the child is smart enough to clear that too)

Just my two cents..

If he is an administrator he will be able to see the child's files.
