Hey everyone - I'm investigating ITT's Information Systems Security degree program and want to find info on what the industry syas about ITT. They don't seem to have any recognition w/ the industry and the investment is fairly large comparitively to a standard university program. I'm in Arkansas so keep that in mind when it comes to industry recognition! :)

Man - Dave, you're funny...........lookin! i came back 2 years ago after being gone for 13 years and AR is still behind the power curve! It's scary because the muzzle loader comment is fairly accurate - these people are rocks!

ITT is recognized for entry level electronic repair, not for
information systems graduates. They give adequate training for basic
entry level electronic repair, and may possibly do the same for IS
degrees, but it's not a four-year college degree and will never be
recognized as such. It's a trade school education.

Hey Jeff thanks for the info and yeah I see your point but comparitively to what the uni system offers here in arkansas they are a step above the basics. Had a friend go through ITT years ago and now he's the administrator for the AZ Vets department. Arkansas' IT degree program is centered more around core classes than industry and honestly it truly upsets me to think that despite the IT changes taking place in the world and around Arkansas the state refuses to roll with the changes. What I really need to do is get my 15 years of experience and military training recognized and made legitimate for these backwards arses to recognize!!! Thanks again!

Your friend is the admin for that department because he's good enough
and experienced enough, not because he went through ITT. Any
traditional college/university degree is centered around core classes,
and it's those core classes that are the useful ones. Any IT course
you take is obsolete in a few years.

You might want to get out of Arkansas if 15 years experience isn't
getting you anywhere. :)
