It shows a lot of Register-keys to erase, is it reliable?

I use it on a lot of client's computers and have never had it screw up a
system. It sometimes stops working during a "check for problems" and it
HAS THE POTENTIAL to screw up a computer but so does a lot of software.

Spybot is reliable but you have to know what you are
doing. Do research with the help of a search engine (may I
suggest Google?) on what Spybot tells you is a problem;
you can then feel comfortable letting Spybot "fix"
something. You are killing two birds with one stone: you
are finding out what you have on your computer and you are
also educating yourself on how these nasty little things
got on your computer in the first place and how to better
combat against it happening again.

Incidently, I find Ad-aware more user-friendly towards
beginners, so I would suggest you use Ad-aware first.
(Plus, it looks aesthetically better; sorry to all the
Spybot fans, but Spybot looks horrible compared to Ad-
aware). Once you are comfortable with Ad-aware, then
switch on over to Spybot, or use both (highly
recommended).

I know in the beginning, I was seeing "data miner"
this, "tracking cookie" that, "potential hijack browser"
there, and I was like, "What the hell is this?" Once you
familiarize with the lingo and what should and shouldn't
belong and how to fix this or that, you'll be okay.

Research is your friend, though! I can't stress enough to
do research to see how this all works; if anything, it
makes for a fascinating read.
