HELP

I looked in my Internet Options the other day and noticed that I no longer have a 'Security' tab, which means that I don't have the option of, say, making my browser 'check before allowing cookies', or 'check before running scripts', etc

Someone told me that a piece of Spyware may have disabled my access to my security settings. Is this possible? (I've since removed any potentially harmful stuff.) Is it something I could have done myself perhaps, not the spyware?

I'm familiar with Explorer, and I've checked through Help (etc), and it isn't my imagination. The tab's gone.

How do I enable the tab again - that's if it's still still there in the background somewhere?

I have Windows ME, and whatever Explorer generally comes with that. (9?

Any thoughts would be most appreciated

Paul

Have you tried to just reinstall Internet Explorer?
I have not seen this issue before but I would attempt to reinstall IE6 and it's updates.

Try this link. Has a lot of stuff relating to spyware.
Has a section dealing with 'Fixes', one of them for
missing tabs.
