I'm under the impression that my computer has been hacked into. It seems
whoever it was took a special likeing to my school files (mainly papers I've
written over time), as that folder is now empty. Fortunately windows
recorded the last date and time the contents of that folder were "modified".
My question is is there some way I can see who was in my computer at that
time? This happened somewhat recently I'm guessing (about 2 days ago
according to windows). Seeing as I was on the computer at the time
specified, I know it wasn't anyone I live with. Thanks to anyone that can
help.

First we (and you) cannot be sure what eactly has happended , it might be
something else , not exactly hacker .

Said simply , NO . You can't understand who might have accessed your
computer nor you can find his/hers tracks .

Generally , if a hacker has wound your PC , I suggest you format the hard
drive and reinstall Windows because you can never be sure what exactly the
hacker has touched/modified/deleted/installed and so on .

If you don't want to reinstall Windows , you can use a back-up to restore
the files . You can also try to use file recovery software to restore the
files . You should make sure your computer is completely malware free and to
protect it against future accidents
