What version of Norton do you have? Apparently there is a patch (WMI update)
which allows Windows Security Center to communicate properly with Norton
Antivirus. Unfortunately it's only available so far for Antivirus 2004/2005.
If running AV 2002/2003, the 2004 WMI update will work. (don't know about
earlier versions). Symantec does not provide a direct download (only through
LiveUpdate) but if you wish, you can download it here:
http://www.neowin.net/staff/RadishTM/Norton_WMI_Update.rar
Note: You will need a program to be able to uncompress the downloaded file.
It's not in the normal zip format, but rather uses RAR compression. Look
for the shareware version of WinRAR which will be able to uncompress the
files.
Also, Symantec support has stated they will release the WMI update for NAV
2002/2003 shortly. You may want to wait for that instead.

You may find this page helpful at Symantec:
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/sp2/faq.html and if you run the "automated
solutions" wizard, it may find updates that LiveUpdate missed.
