Hi Everyone

I am new to this news group. Does anyone use Windows XP and any security
scanning tools such as ISS Internet Scanner. I want to install SP2 on my
Windows XP but I think it will stop my scanner working correctly.

If anyone has any experiance in this I would like to discuss further.

Regards

Stephen

I use SuperScan 4 with no problem. The built in firewall can be disabled and
does not interfere with outbound traffic. XP SP2 is well worth it in my
opinion and it can be uninstalled via Add and Remove programs though I
prefer a disk image with something like the version of Ghost that comes with
Norton SystemWorks Pro as a rollback plan. --- Steve

Hi Steve

Thanks for replying. I have no problems with port scanning. I have
problems with scanning tools that run hack checks like buffer overflows.

Stephen
