Have just downloaded this security patch rec'd from
Microsft through e-mail. Seemed to go successfully, but
now when my Active Desktop displays I get an Error Occured
message: "Memory access Violation in Module Kernel 32 at
9844:46785776". Anyone else have this come up? Reason for
concern?? Thanks, Slowdancer

Microsoft NEVER sends updates as email attachments

Why did you open it?

PLEASE Don't click on any email attachment you don't
know about. This is a virus!!!!!!! Even if you're all
protected don't click on any unknown email attachments

"Authentic security bulletin mailers never provide the
patch itself or a link to the patch; instead, they refer the
reader to the complete version of the bulletin on our
web site, which provides a link to the patch"

"Seemed to go successfully"? Darn right, the W32.Swen.A@mm
i-worm installed successfully. Now you have a mess to clean up.

1st point: Microsoft never, NEVER, ***NEVER*** sends
executable file attachments as system patches.

2nd point: Never, NEVER, ***NEVER*** click on attachments
sent unsolicited, for they are so nearly always malicious
that you should just treat them as malicious.

3rd point: You are clearly not running AV on your computer,
or it is not current; otherwise your AV would have triggered
a warning, at least, and likely deleted any malicious code.
It would not have allowed that code to run.

Now comes the fun, cleaning up the mess. Others have there
favorite sites; from McAfee they often recommend 'Stinger'.
Since I use NAV, generally go to their site:
