2nd request. Is there a way to determine if I've already
installed the blaster security patch? If not, since I'm
not sure if I've already installed it, is there any
problem in installing it on top of the previous one? I
run Windows NT 4.0 and Win 2K. (two computers)

Yes, go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
Then, scan for updates.
For info on blaster:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.asp

For the future, please go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
on the left clidk on personalize windows update. Here you can choose how to
set windows update to automate tasks to the level that you feel comfortable.
You can decide at the time something is available or have it done
automatically.
Mine is always set to automatic on all my home machines.
