I'm thinking around 70K.

What is the going rates today for a Security position?

What are the best salary negot. techniques?

What if I walk in with a higher salary than expected?

a) walk out and think about it for a later meeting.

Thanks,
T.

You can think?

$8/hour at Wal-Mart but thinking's not required.

Stomping your feet & holding your breath.

Depends on a lot, such as what the job is, what your experience is, how many
jobs and talented people there are in your area, where in the world you are,
and what currency they use there.

Search www.google.com and go to the library.

Some people say that the first person to mention a dollar amount, loses.
Sometimes you have little choice but to mention a dollar amount, if they
insist.

Kind of depends on the "security position" doesn't it? An IT Security
Auditor commands a hefty price tag, a guy who changes passwords
doesn't. Router/Firewall security, network security, system security,
CCISP, CSO, all have different jobs and correspondingly different
salaries. All based on experience.

Be prepared to walk, otheriwse you can't negotiate.

>What if I walk in with a higher salary than expected?

They can:

A) Meet it.
B) Negotiate you down.
C) Say "Thank you" and interview the next guy.
