I hope that this is the right NG to ask this question, if not then perhaps
someone can point me in the right direction.

Several of the computers at work have Microsoft Antispyware installed, (with
a bulls-eye icon on the desktop). As it is now outdated I tried to
uninstall it by going to Add or Remove programs in the control panel but
although the program is there, when highlighted there is no *Remove* button.
Can anyone tell me how you remove this program?

Hi Sandy,

D/L and install Ccleaner -
http://www.ccleaner.com

Note, When you install Ccleaner, uncheck the Yahoo toolbar option.
Note, in Options, Advanced, uncheck - Only delete files in Windows folders
older than 48 hours.
Note: uncheck Windows Defender in the applications.

Open Ccleaner and start the cleaning, press "Windows" "Aplications" and "Run
Cleaner" from the menu choose 'Issues' and then press scan for issues, Repair
any fºund.

REMOVING BETA 1
Whatever you do, (installing and updateting or unistalling) always as a
administrator.

Run in safe mode.

Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. Click Microsoft AntiSpyware and
click Change. Click Next, and then click Remove.

In Windows Programs files, delete all the sub-directorys and the folder MSAS.

Delete in Windows\system 32 :
GcColetion.dll
Hashlib.dll
GcUnCompress.dll
GcTypLibA.tbl
GcAntiSpywareLib.dll
GcUserData.gcg

In Windows\Downloaded Installations, any reference about MSAS.

Use again Ccleaner
Run the above remover in safe mode Ccleaner on all 3 settings(windows, apps &
issues) and clear anything found reboot and see if it still exists.

Done.

Thnk you for your time Engel,

It turned out that the users did not have local admin rights and
although all the other programs had Remove buttons, Microsoft
Antispyware did not. Giving them local admin rights allowed them to
remove the program.

Thank you again,

Sandy
