My computer starts up after proper shut down at odd
intervals . Sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. All my
associates say this is impossible, a computer cannot
start itself after the windows program is shut off. My
computer will start itself after I shut it off. Help.

Hi,
Have you checked your wake on modem ring feature in your
system bios. Sometimes this cause the PC to start up
automatically or if your PC is on a network, please ask
your system administrator to look into your wake on lan
settings.

In addition look at all your power management settings in the cmos settings,
some computers are able to allow a startup by schedule. It could also be a
general problem with the motherboard or power supply or problem with your front
panel on switch or cable to it shorting out. --- Steve

I used to have a comp that if I didn't shut it down correctly (a one finger
power down), it used to start it up again a few hours later.
