Try using Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer -
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/tools/mbsahome.mspx to scan local
system if MS04-029 is installed. You can also try
http://www.pedestalsoftware.com/products/se/downloads/webscan/ free webaudit
to see if it's installed or not.
Note: MBSA cannot use Office Detection tool to scan remote systems.
