Two days ago when Norman took a patch, it said that I should reboot my computer(as normally), I did it, but when I was back in Windows, Norman said that I have to reboot my computer. I did it again, but when I returned to Windows, Norman wanted that I reboot my computer again. I've rebooted my computer almost 20 time but always the same thing! Does anyone know what can I do?? Please help, because I'm really stuck

Okay, you've been watching too many calssic Star Trek reruns. I liked
the Mudd episode on the planet of the robots too, but the product is
from "Norton", not "Norman".

Plus, this is a Norton issue, why don't you use the Norton support to
get your answer?

If it's the same OEM version of Norman that was pre-installed on a couple of
computers I've come across, the uninstall isn't easy. There is no unistall
program as such, and it you try to crowbar it off, it leaves bits of itself
scattered all over the system and continues to consume resources - far worse
than any virus/trojan it might catch. I would agree that it needs removing -
but there's NO way I would put it back! Scrap and and install AVG,
especially as it's free.

Probably because he means Norman not Norton. Check your facts before you
make fun of people. <grin> It's the worst AV program I've ever seen - even
worse than the bloatware that Norton has become. I doubt Norman have a
support system, and if they do, I'll bet it's very expensive.

I never heard of it. With the names being so similar I would have thought
the same as Jeff and would have not had any "suspicion" to cause me to think
otherwise.

I'm surprised Symantec hasn't sued them... :)

Okay, I'll amend my original suggestion:

Why not use the *Norman* support options?

Though for the OP, a quicky search also brings up a possibility,
you're not using the XP SP2 beta, are you?

I did a quick search and there appear to be a number of issues with
older versions of their product, but one that might have made sense
for the OP was a note about problems with installing XP SP2.

The program does appear to be supported, though an OEM version could
always be a nightmare to deal with.

Plus, I didn't ask the OP if this was an XP system and could be
returned to a previous restore point, or if he had a backup to
restore.

Believe it, you don't WANT to know about it. It took me an hour to prise all
traces of it from a friend's machine - registry editing is not a speciality.
My only regret is putting Norton on instead of Norman (mind you, it was his
choice) - as bloatware goes Norton is getting plain silly.

I wish I'd remembered your last point when I spent the hour I mentioned in
my other post removing Norman from my friend's machine. The pre-installed
software had a shortcut on the main program memory, so I assumed it was
already installed anyway. Clicking the shortcut actually installed the
program - with no option to stop it, as I remember. Had I known, I would
have set a restore point before running it. Memo for the future - since it
costs nothing, always set a restore point anyway. I DO learn - slowly <grin>
