I am trying to open an attachment of 10.0 KB but a
message keeps coming up saying "Can not load Word for 2.0
files". What does this mean and how can I get around it?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I know what the attachment is,
and I am not sure what a file extension is.

Try saving the attachment to disk, and then open word separately, and then
find the file and open it.
Sounds like your browser doesn't have the right plugin or something.

That didn't work either. I can save it, but when I try to
open it, it still has that message. There are 3
attachments and this is the smallest one and the other
two open perfectly fine.

Then ask the sender to re-send the attachment.

A file extension is the (usually) three-character bit after the dot - as in,
filename.doc - if you don't see these, might want to go to control panel,
folder options, view, and uncheck "hide file extensions for known file
types).

You should be aware that without getting and installing
a converter, that MSWord will only open files from
3.0 or later. Unfortunately the web site no longer lists such
a converter. So have the sender resend in 3.0 or later format.
