Please Help Me!!!!

Yesterday I had 15 workstation computers running XP
shutdown unexpectedly. This shutdown was not due to a
power outage. Each workstation went through the shutdown
process and restarted just like it would if you picked
restart from the Start menu. Does anyone know how this
could happen? Just to let you know we are running a Cisco
firewall.

Thank you for your help.

Chad

Sounds to me like the work of the Blaster Virus.

Install a good antivirus program and get the needed virus definition
updates.

Good luck.

This could be blaster or some similar exploit if you haven't patched against
them.

The firewall is no protection if an infected laptop is plugged into the
protected network behind the firewall.

Are these machines fully patched with critical updates?

One of the options for the auto update function of windows is to
automatically install the upgrades and reboot at a set time , so if all
machines are configured to do this they will all reboot at the same point.
