I know checkpoint has it's own vpn client for remote vpn connections...but I
was wondering if the microsoft vpn adapter can also be used to establish
remote vpn connections with a Checkpoint NG firewall?

Thanks in advance,
JP

Yes, it is possible to use Windows VPN client to connect to Checkpoint
VPN-1. here's L2TP configuration from the Phoneboy's Checkpoint FAQ:

http://www.phoneboy.com/bin/view.pl/FAQs/VPNWithL2TPClients

Doing certificate authentication is also possible but configuration bit of a
problem. I couldn't find any information on how to use VPN-1 with EAP-TLS
and IAS.
