I have just set up a Dell computer. This came with 90 days AcAfee anti-virus
already installed. I have not registered the product. Instead, I installed
Norton 2006. Every time I boot up McAfee wants to register. I have tried
going to add/remove programs, but it will not let me uninstall it, it says
virus scan is already running and will not let me remove it.
Anybody any ideas please.
Thank you. S

You can't have two antivirus programs at the same time because they are
conflicting with each other and you may have problems.

I personally don't like these two both .However ,I think Norton 2006 is the
better one.

Boot in Safe Mode and try to uninstall the unwanted-McAfee

How to boot your computer in SAFE MODE
Do this by repeatedly typing F8 while Windows is starting
before Windows logo appears.
Then you'll open the BIOS menu where you can choose to boot
the hard drive in SAFE MODE

If this doesn't help ,goto the McAfee forum and ask for help there:

And one mre thing...you should first remove all McAfee security applications
