If you read the full description of that Group Policy setting it will warn
that users potentially can use applications to access drives and can also
use the command prompt to access drives folders if they have the ability to
use it. Having said that it still can be worth implementing to prevent
casual browsing of drives but ultimately you need to rely on NTFS
permissions to limit what users can do on the drives such as making sure
they do not have write access to folders that you do not want them to write
to, or not having read/execute access to folders/files that you do not want
them to see or execute. There are still a lot of programs that are not
following Microsoft certified application guidelines. --- Steve
