It started approximately 5 hours ago. The level of spam has significantly increased. All messages come from different IP addresses. The only thing they have in common is that they all are in German. Does anyone else experience the same problem?
Thanks

We have seen the same thing. It looks suspicious, especially since
some of the messages are not the usual "spam" like subjects. One was
a quick blurb on foreigners in swiss jails. Anyone else seeing this?

I'm seeing a buttload of these emails.

Started between 7PM-8PM CST yesterday

All of the email headers that I've checked so far are qmail.

True, checked several of these and they all have qmail specified as the mailer.

The spam level has increased again. We are getting several hundreds of these e-mails per day. There are not many variants of these messages though.

The e-mail addresses in MAIL FROM and RCPT TO do not match the ones used in From and To fields in the message header.

I am wondering if it is area specific problem (I am in Australia) or is it a problem around the globe.
