I keep getting a weird message: Selected Por, com1, is
not available. HotSync Manager will open port when
available. Any ideas what this is?

Did you have a Palm Pilot or a Sony Clie PDA hooked up at one time to your
PC ? HotSync is the name of the program that these PDA's use to communicate
with the PC with. If you do not use the PDA's., just go to ADD/REMOVE
programs and delete it or your PC will forever be looking at your COM1
serial port hoping to find a connection

It probably has something to do with Palm handheld manager [at least that is what it
is on my computer]. Assuming you have that program, check it's configuration as to
what is used for synching with your handheld device. --- Steve
