    - fake emails from microsoft I keep getting (junk) emails from "fuelqkpb@newsletters.msn.com," regarding some "ms" security updates. I get a couple others with similar subjects - some referring to a network. Strangely, most of these are 144kb or 156 kb, so I recognize them quickly. I update antivirus software religiously, scan, and I've double checked for mydoom - all are okay. May I assume these emails are bogus? Some have an exe file attached - I suppose this is trouble?     - email virus? My daughter opened an attached file from an email sender anasr@ccib.org.lb, sent to her university mail srever on my computer. The file was an info.zip file, which when opened said 'file corrupted'. Since then the hard drive on the computer sounds like it has gone into overdrive. I have a broadband connection and the data light flashes continually even when I'm not using the internet. I'm very concerned that she's opened something horrible.     - Network monitoring tools for sbs2000 I am running a network of 13 computers and 1 sbs2000 server. I need to get some monitoring software up and running on my SBS2k server so that I can track webtraffic from users on the network, network usage (who uses what resource on the server/network most often or per day), statistics to show an overview of usage, and most importantly a report feature that allows you to print a report of who has been doing what on the network.     - Error events in my Administrative tools Event Viewer I received the following message in my Administrative tools Event Viewer log and was wondering if someone is trying to enter my computer. I received an icon on my desk top that said win32 has incountered an error and needs to shut down. The first error message in my Event log was from DCOM, user was guest, (which I was not in the guest account at the time), event ID #10010, The server 8BC3F05E-D864-11DO-A075-00C04FB68820 did not register with DCOM within the required time out. The next error message was from the service control center, Event ID #7032, the service control center tried to take corrective action, (restart the service), after an unexpected termination of the windows management instruction service, but this action failed with the following error: an instance of the service is already running. I later received this error message from source IPNATHIP, Event ID #30005, the DHCP allocator has detected a DHCP server with IP Address 10.155.100.1 on the same network as the interface with IP address 192.168.0.1. The allocator has disabled its self on the interface in order to avoid confusing DHCP Clients. I then received this message from DHCP, Event ID #1002, The IP address lease 192.168.100.11 for the network card with network address 000B06016463 has been denied by DHCP server 192.168.100.1, (the DHCP server sent a DHCPNACK message).     - Problem 828028 uninstall on XP SP1 When I try to test uninstalling this patch on Windows XP SP1 through add/remove programs, it stops and says it cannot copy msasn1.dll from the uninstall folder. Logged in as administrator. I browse to the path where the backup is and it still won't copy. Cannot back out of the uninstall at this point. WHen it reboots after this without copying the file, it blue screens. THe uninstall worked fine on Win2K workstations. ANyone know why this is happening?     - Frontpage publishing security problem Hey all, I have a problem....I have a website that I am hosting myself on my own web server at home. I have been updating it through VNC and sometimes through my FTP site. This took quite a while, so I figured, why not use the Publish Web option in FrontPage? My problem is: it didnt ask for a single password or anything. I have published various other sites through my work with FrontPage, and everytime it would prompt for a password. This is a serious problem because anyone can publish to my site! I just had someone else try it on their computer, and they successfully published. I checked my local securities and there arent any obvious problems screaming "ANYONE CAN PUBLISH!" at me. For all of the C drive, I have only the local admins, and the groups: NETWORK, SERVICE, and SYSTEM set up with permissions. The site is hosted through IIS 5.0. My operating system is Microsoft ME. When I use Explorer,

inbox, bank account info, and other financial sites. I get

started all on its own.

I don't have a lot of techno smarts. Can somebody offer
technical help, so this can be fixed?
