I've installed SP2 and now I get an error message when attemping live update
with Norton antivirus. This is the error message LU1803:Live update failed
while getting your updates. Live update had an internal error while getting
your
updates. Your Symantec programs were not updated. You
should try getting updates at a later time. If live updates
fails again with this error, you should reinstall live
updates.
Should live updates be reinstalled, or is there a setting
that just needs to be changed due to the loading of SP2? I've tried getting
in touch with Symantec, but that is next to impossible. Thanks!!
Judy

If I need to reinstall, Do I have to uninstall the whole
Norton antivirus/internet security program and then
reinstall?
Thank you for your help.

It could be a Norton server problem. I have had this message and it
usually goes a way after a while and Live Update works. That would mean
it has nothing to do with SP2.

disable the personal firewall that SP2 enables by default.

My friend had an issue after loading sp2 regarding logging on to the
internet. Her ISP gave her the number for microsoft. She was kind enough to
pass it on to me. They knew of the issue I was having and said there was a
patch available. They a gave me the number for Symantec. The recording on
the phone told me to go to service.symantec.com/lu1803. There was a patch
and now my problem is fixed!! I hope this may help anyone who may experience
the same problem as me.
