Running xp home, sp2. Using Sygate firewall, Norton AV 2004, Spy
Sweeper, Spyware Doctor, AdAware. Because of the time required for all
these to open at boot, Windows Security gets impatient & thinks the AV
is off, so it gives me a "balloon" telling me the program isn't running
at each startup. Any way to disable this alert? I looked through the
Windows Security settings, if it's there I can't find it.

TIA

Dan

Control Panel>Security Center, double-click to open. Then on the left
side, click on "Change how Security Center alerts me". Untick the boxes
as you desired, OK and Apply out. No more alerts.

OK, I'm an idiot. I went to that setup & looked at all the dialogues
under "internet options", but ignored the "Resources" section on the
right. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Heh heh. I'm sure that isn't true. In any case, you're very welcome.
