    - Internet Toolbar icons Recently, we noticed the appearance of an icon on our MSN.com home page. The icon is named "Hot Sex." We have no idea where or how this icon got on our toolbar. We are not techies, but I was able to delete the icon by going into View then Toolbars and Customize. However, the icon is still in the "Available Tool Bar buttons." How do I get rid of it?     - Pop-Up Windows How does one get rid of pop ups. I get a lot of dating service, sex, reducing and loan pop ups. It is most annoying when I am in the middle of a letter or game and one of these windows over rides whatever is on the screen.It is also embarrassing to return to my computer several hours later and find a sex ad in the middle of my screen. I've been able to use the "My Computer...Add/Remove programs" on a couple. But, most of these new pop ups don't appear on the add/delete program screen (at least not in any form I can recognize) so I can't remove them. Where can they be found, haw are they recognizable from regular program items (ie. do they have a peculiar file extension etc.) and how do I get rid of them.     - Export cert to pkcs12 format i was able to export from IE way back i october in this format. now when i look at the options, it is not available as a selection in the export wizard. the certificate i am attempting to export is the same one. the only changes would have bee hotfixes and xp sp's. i am running ie 6.x with xp pro current patches. can anyone provide any info?     - Hacked?! Just got on my computer, and when I try to access internet options, I get a message saying that access is not allowed and that I should contact my system administrator (me!)     - strange error We have about 5 NT machines that have been acting very strangly over the last few months. It started with one and seemed to "spread" to the others over a few weeks. I was checking the Event log on 2 of them, and they both have the same error several times in the same day, It read The browser has received an illegal datagram from the remote computer QA771C to name OUR_COMPUTER on transport Nwlnk. The data is the datagram. I replaced our computers name for security reasons. The remote computer had many different names, I counted 9, and it looks to be something like a port scan or something like that, because I have gotten this error over 50 times in under 20 minutes.     - Un-erasable addresses I have the habit of hopping fron one page to another without sometimes paying attention. A few times I ended up of questionable and/or sex sites. I don't know if they where pop-ups or what. The problem is that I am now unable to erase their addresse from Explorer even when I specifically highlight them and request a delete. Any suggestions?     - Access 2000 I will TRY to make this as short as possible. I needed to get a very large(350 meg) MS Access DB from one place to another, which means from moving it from one LAN to another. After receiving the DB via CD, quite a few of the objects(macros, forms, etc..) aren't there. Is this due to the DB have security applied to it ? I also had the security files copied to the CD as well. Is there a way to reconnect the security ? Will this help out the situation at all ? Any other suggestions ? Thanks in advance.     - Pop Ups I've gotten great advice here in the past on where to download Anti virus programs free. Does anyone know of anywhere to download something that will stop pop ups?? Now I'm hearing people can use code to get into your system which is unseen and contained in the body of the e- mail and simply opening this e-mail to read it can unleash this code.     - can i stop web page redirection ok. The problem: Some one changed a file in my IE program Files. Reason I came to this conclusion: First: my search page was changed from the msn search page to www.white-pages.ws. They did a good job too. When I went to click customize search it opened the same page in a new window; very clever. Solved this by downloading upgrade of IEv5.5 to IE v6.02 and blocking web page by putting in the restricted sites under Internet Options/Security Tab, restricted Icon. Second: I tried viewing a geocities.com site and was redirected to www.white-pages.ws. So I typed in www.geocities.com and the page came up. Now when I typed in www.geocities.com/ (note: added the back slash to indicate subdirectory) and it came up with white page ws again. So I went offline and deleted the temporary internet (all off-line content) and cookies then placed in the address bar www.geocities.com ... unable to pull up page off-line. I then typed in www.geocities.com/ and poof, the page shows up. I assume it is like the 404 Error page and I just don't know what the name of the file is. I had another website change that in a previous version IE. Questions: Is there a place where you can find out the name of these files or where they are stored? ie. 404 Error, Search page, and so on. Is there any way to stop web redirection? So that instead of being redirected to www.white-pages.ws.com it will ask or prevent the redirection. Is there a way to fix this problem, or is it a standard Window's reformat and reinstall issue? I thank you for your time. A response would be more than greatly appreciated.     - Pop-up ad filtering I have Windows ME. In the past week I have had a flood of pop-up ads, some of which are very offensive. We are using Comcast broadband for Internet connection. In one answer to a related question I was informed some versions of Windows have an Admin Tool called Messenger than can be turned off to discourage these pop ups.     - someone unknown sending spam from my id address I was recently contacted by Road Runner because someone got into my computer from the internet and was using my ip address to send spam. I've added a firewall and have it set so that I have to permit or deny any access to or from my computer. I get two messages (every minute!) that I can't find information on.     - Blank windows update notifications... Lately, when XP's automatic windows updater has announced an update is ready, clicking on "info" has produced a blank window: No information about what's about to be downloaded. This means either MS has developed a bug in the updater or someone else has hijacked the update system and is doing God knows what with it. These blank updater windows have been labeled both "Windows Updates" as well as "Intel Network" updates, which is meaningless, as a practical matter, since a hacker could label it anything he wants. We are looking for resource that tells us how to
connected to the Windows Update site through a Firewall.

For example if we create an IPSec filter as follows

trust all 192.168.x.x
block all x.x.x.x

Everything outside the local network is blocked. However
I want to allow Windows Update. What IP
addresses/ports/protocls do I need to trust?
