I have Windows XP home edition loaded on my desktop. I
recently added a Microsoft MN-7OO wireless base station
and a wireless notebook adapter. When I installed this it
told me to disable the Windows XP firewall. Does anyone
know if that firewall should be turned back on or does
the base station have a firewall also?

I don't have the product but the Base Station probably at least has NAT
(Network Address Translation), which blocks *unsolicited* internet
traffic. It in effect functions like the XP firewall. It may also have a
stateful firewall (RTFM), which is probably why it recommended you
disable the XP firewall. Make sure take precautions necessary for
wireless network access.
