    - Account set up without knowledge. Hi. I discovered an account that had been set up on my comp without my knowledge. It wasn't by myself or the other admin, and was known as ASP.net. I deleted it immediately, but I am wondering if that has only been removed from the surface and 'whoever' is still able to access my comp? I am running XP, scan with Norton AV twice a week, and run ad-aware (lavasoft) at least every 3rd day. I had Kazaa installed, but removed it and it's nasties about 5 days ago.     - HELP..how do I change registry key???? I have attempted to get rid of spyware on my computer and did what many of you suggested; I ran Adaware, Spybot Search and destroy, CWSshredder, Hijack This and Spywareblaster (WHEW), all these scans found many items and deleted most of them. Anyway after all that Spybot and Adaware still showed items, but when I tried to delete the found items it says fixing failed. I printed the report and the items are PurityScan software (registry key) and several downloadware: user settings (registry key).     - Security After Installing a New Router I just installed a new Linksys 4 port cable/dsl router. It has built in firewall. Just how good are these router firewalls? There does not seem to be any way of knowing whether or not it is working, unlike a software firewall like ZoneAlarm that can constantly remind you when a threat is blocked. My question is Windows XP home edition is constantly reading and writing and am curious if this is normal? What is it doing? Maybe they should program it to do something useful for the end-user like keep itself tuned up, defragged and delete temp files. Previous versions of Windows didn't need to do this and yes, we should know what it is doing.     - Adware/ Spyware Hello all! I have a question, and I'm sure you all have heard this over and over again. I have been beating my head in, trying to get the Adware/ Spyware off of my computer. It has my computer hostage! I have installed Spybot (Search and Destroy), and Adware, both which have detected certain items and quarantined. The problem is: I still have the same problems (Slow start-up booting, home page changes, search functions and all others associated with spyware.)     - Multiple user identities, XP and resident spyware checkers I have just set up several user identities on my machine (Windows XP Home) and I notice that when I change users, AVG antivirus and Zone Alarm automatically appear in the system tray, but Spybot resident and Spyware Guard do not.     - Windows Critical Update Notification Glitch Hi group, Wucrtupd.exe runs and I get the indicated updates (Win98 upgrade from WFW3.11). The dialog indicates updates were successfully installed and the log also indicates the same. The next time the program runs it lists the following as needed ~ 817787: Security Update Windows Media Player 7.1 Q320920: Security Update (Windows Media Player 7.1) At first I didn't even have that application on my system (don't really want it). there.. I am trying to clear that list and have tried clearing the catche,
auto compltet, cookies, all with no luck PLEASE HELP .
