Today I had to go into my add/remove programs to
remove and obsolete printer after updating with XP home
SP2. I noticed 2 programs right away that should not be
there... "Home Search Assistant" & "Search Extender". When
I go to remove it send me to this site:http://looking-
for.cc/uninstall/SearchExtender.html. And tells me to
download a progam and run it?????? Is this a good Idea????

Why do you write "thought carefully and wrote" while
quoting the original poster? I say this will all due
respect: it seems rather rude to him/her and looks like a
condescending move on your part, whether you meant it to
be or not.

Just my opinion.

Don't mean it that way, I programmed into my email software as a
standard reply header.

Everyone should think carefully before they write, no?

Well if it is self evident why include it?

These types of remarks/comments/what have you in posters' headers are
supposed to mean something, I suppose, but mostly they are just plain
childish.

Lighten up. There really is nothing wrong with what Lance is doing. The
important part of his posts is the body. If it bothers you so much,
simply add him to your kill file and you won't need to get worked up
over the way he chooses to express himself.

Exactly. His is quite polite IMO. I doesn't have to be taken
"sarcastically". I've seen some that were a whole lot worse. It is just
what the newsgroup world is like, get used to it folks.

Who said there was anything wrong? It is as I said simply childish. Now if
this childishness is to your taste I have no problem with that, it is a pity
that everyone seems to be obliged to enjoy it.

What on earth is the nonsense at your signature suppose to mean? Please
don't explain even if you could.

Calling something childish generally carries a negative connotation.

WOW. Perhaps if these types of things bother you that much then USENET

Good greif! You mean you don't know what "[MCP, MVP, CCNA]" means!?

MCP = Microsoft Certified Professional
MVP = Most Valued Professional (Microsoft)
CCNA = Cisco Certified Networking Associate

The square brackets are because I like it that way.

Sorry you feel that way Ed. Personally, I don't like your reply header.
In the past I've always tried to delete that nonsense message identifier

reply header if I can help it.

But if you like it that way, please keep on using it. It doesn't bother

Paul Adare has been using this overly ostentatious
signature for a very long time. (The ridiculous signature
in question states: "This posting is provided 'AS IS' with
no warranties, and confers no rights." [Yeah, no $h!t.])

We already know that taking his or anyone else's advice
here is our own responsiblity, but I guess this vain prima
donna is worried about one of us suing him for taking his
advice and screwing up our computers with it. This sort
of "limit of liability" statement is great for big
companies, but for a poster in a forum like this one? No,
ridiculously pretentious act on Paul Adare's part.

Easily the most worthless signature here, IMO.

Not that I owe anyone who chooses to castigate me for my sig and remain
anonymous while doing so...

I am neither vain, no a prima donna, however, there I do have a flaw
that explains my .sig. I'm too lazy to configure my news reader to use
another one for this server. I post fairly regularly on another, private
server using the email address of a company for which I am a vendor.
This company's legal department requires this .sig. Vain? Prima donna?
No. A little bit lazy? Certainly.

If it bothers you that much, just plop me into your kill file.
Complaining about my .sig isn't really going to do you much good. If my
wife can't get me to mend my yours, some anonymous poster on USENET
really has no chance of doing so.

Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back too
much! I don't follow your postings closely; I come here to
read and post like everyone else on a regular basis and I
always noticed your meaningless signature when I read your
replies to other posters.

worst.
