I have Access 2000 running on a network with four
stations connected to the server, each station has a copy
of the software. When more than one user tries to access
the application we receive an error that says she/he
doesn't have exculsive rights. And when I look at the
directory and file at that time there is a 'lock' icon
on the file.

I looked at the individual security parameters by station,
but don't see anything that looks like it would prevent
access by all users in a multi-user enviorement.

Could this be at the server security level and the
individual stations problem?

Thanks

It's an *Access* issue more than a network or file system security
issue. Try an Access group or help, but basically Access is finicky
about multiple users and you need to deal with multi-user security in
some rather annoying ways. :)

Ok this means if one user has it open then they are the
only ones that have "Save" rights to it. The other users
are not able to save anythign to it. They still are able
to veiw it jsut not change anything. Now if you were to
have SQL or something liek that then all users could
change nad add all the time. Good luck...
