    - Using a CSV as data source Hi, I'm trying to use a csv file as my data source, I've used the Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 as my OLE DB Provider. My conexion string is Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=D:\Mydir;Extended Properties="text;HDR=Yes;FMT=CSVDelimited" and my query is Select * from myfile.csv But the result set I've got shows just one column, instead of the three that are in the file. (separated by comma) What's wrong? How could I config the datasource to get data from a csv without importing it to my SQL DB?     - Movenext to next record in dataset if condition not met! Does anyone know how I can not display a record or skip to next record in dataset if a condition is not met? I can get it to put a blank when the condition is true, but the report is displaying the row where the data would be. So, it looks like a blank line.     - problem with images I have a problem with images being displayed in a report when I select the image source coming from the web. The URL I am specifing is http://localhost/Scimitar/media/thumbnail.aspx?lmediaid=1742 In the layout i can see the image, in the preview i cannot nor in the deployed report when i navigate to this page in a browser the image is shown ok http://localhost/Scimitar/media/thumbnail.aspx?lmediaid=1742 I have downloaded service pack 1 which is supposed to resolve this problem Can anyone help?     - exporting a selection of the report hi, when you have a report that uses groups, it's apparently very difficult to export only a certain area from that report to eg an excel sheet... example: customername 1 product1 price 1 product2 price 2 customername 2 product1 price 1 customername 3 and now i only want the customer names exported to my excel sheet.     - Display of MICR font. I have a check printing functionality which is implemented as an rdl. The check number needs to render in MICR .     - language property BUG when using expressions. in one of my projects i was dynamically setting the Language property of tables, textboxes etc , but it just wasn't working.. For my needs i solved the problem by rather setting dynamic Formats however i still thing this is a bug.. it is shown in the example below.. i have textboxes where each are set to =code.mydate which just returns a datetime the first textbox has language set to default (which is english (US) so the date gets shown in MM/DD/YYYY format the next one is set to English (United Kingdom) so it correctly shows it as DD/MM/YYYY however when i set it to English (United Kingdom) via a function or even just an expression ="English (United Kingdom)" it doesn't work.. the language property only works when it is static, not dynamic.     - Report Parameter Problem I have a report based on a stored procedure with three parameters: Start Date, End Date, and Salesperson. The first two are required, and the Salesperson is not. In the report, the Salesperson is based on a query which provides a drop down for choosing a name. It is set to allow nulls and blanks. When I run the report in Visual Studio preview, if no Salesperson is chosen, and both dates are entered, no data is returned. Doing the same thing via debug in a browser, (the drop down is not blank, but says <Selelct a value>), I get prompted to supply the Salesperson parameter. Supplying a value for Salesperson in both cases works fine, but I want the user to have the option to get all the data, not just for a particular person. I've covered this case in the stored procedure, so I'm not sure what is getting passed in the previewer when nothing is entered and no data is returned. If I run the query (sp) via the Data tab, and provide exactly the same values for the parameters, I get the data I expect, and no prompt for the Salesperson. If I put a default value in for the Salesperson, (non-queried), e.g. "All", the preview in VS goes crazy, and locks up. I would have thought with allowing nulls and/or blanks, this should work.     - Page break problem when rendered as PDF I have a problem where a "page break at start" for a group does not occur when the first change in group happens. For subsequent changes in the group value, the page break works exactly as expected. This problem only happens when rendered as PDF (and tiff). Rendering as MHTML works a treat.     - When I try to deploy, the logon fails. I am trying to deploy my reports onto a report server. I am using Windows authentication and I am the dbo. The test connection in the datalink properties works fine, both to the database and to the report server. I have tried with SSL and without SSL. Neither works.     - Where are uploaded files stored When you upload a file in RS - it just gets put in the folder that you are currently in. Does anyone know where there file is physically stored? I uploaded a file and did a search on our RS server and it came up with nothing. I am able to delete my copy of the uploaded file so it's gotta have a copy stored somewhere I just don't know where. (rsProcessingAborted) Get Online Help Cannot create a connection to data source 'SALESLOGIX'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection) Get Online Help The 'SLXOLEDB.1' provider is not registered on the local machine. No error information available: REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG(0x80040154). I checked and this provider seems to only be available under the profile it was installed. That being said I installed it under both profiles for my service user and DB user. I checked the provider by testing it with a udl file and it worked on both profiles. I rebooted the machine and I am still having the same issue.     - Unable to Display Integer Values in the Report Hello, I have been trying to create a report which gets the Name and ID of a person and then print an X in the column of a Head H if the person belongs to the Head H. In the Stored Proc I insert a 0 if no entry exists under the head for a person or the # of times that persons name is under the head (eg 2 times value inserted is 2). I am able to print the name and ID just taking the values of the fields But when I try to print number in the columns using the iif(fields!head1.value = 0, "", "X") I dont print anything. i even tried to fields!head2.value but still I dont get any thing printed out.     - Setting DataSourceReference before call to CreateReport I am working on an automated report deployment tool. I'm working on the last feature, being able to override the datasource in the RDL to point to a common shared one in a specific directory on the report server. I have the data source reference override working for after a deployment. But the deployment of the report doesn't work if the data source doesn't exist in the same directory on the report server as the report. I can change the data source reference after deployment if the data source exists in that directory. I am looking into ways to updating the data source references prior to calling CreateReport. One way is to update the RDL file programatically, which I can do, but when deploying up to 200 reports at a time, this can be very slow. I found another method that might work. I can set properties via the Property objects prior to calling Create Report. My question is, is there a property that I can set to set the data source references on this report?     - Error during deploy Hi, I am publishing my reports to a server and for 2 out of 7 reports I receive the following error message: Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ReportProcessingException was thrown. On my machine the reports worked fine. The server does process the other reports correctly. The server is a SQL Server 2000, my machine has SQL Server 2005 Beta 2. (The actual math is much more complex than this example and I can't move it to the database layer.) I would like to sort my table depending on this calculated column.     - Forced auto refresh to avoid page caching Good Afternoon! I've run into an issue whilst developing a report using VS.NET, RS and SQL Enterprise Server 2000. The problem I have is that I'm using RS to develop a web based app that can be used to edit base table data. I have the app working fine, but it keeps taking it's data from the cached reports. Obviously, this means that every time a change is made to the base data, the user needs to refresh the page - not an easy thing to remember when processing several hundred entries. I have the "Do not cache temporary copies of this report" radio button selected (by default). Also, the "Autorefresh" text box is not an option I can take as it is unusable when there are groups set up on the table - they keep expanding and collapsing. I've seen ways of embedding some (rather shaky) HTML to force the refresh.     - ReportServer refuses to install Hi all, I'm getting an odd problem installing Reporting Services, hope someone can shed some light. First a bit of background. I had RS SP1 installed on SBS2003 and it was working fine. Joined the SP2 beta and installed this. At first it seemed to be working OK including web parts on the Sharepoint site. Then I started getting errors with reports unable to load ReportingServicesCompression.dll - only the Sample Reports would work. I couldn't find any resolution to this so finally decided to remove RS and start from scratch. Now when I run the install from CD the ReportServer components do not install at all. The steps I am presented with are 1. Accept licence agreement 2. Component update 3. System Prerequisites Check where the Sharepoint warning is displayed 4. The setup dialog appears stating that I can click next to continue but instead the routine launches straight into the install process 5. Dialog to say install has completed successfully I've tried installing a few times generally without even getting output in the RSStp_.cab file. The last time I did get something but I cannot see any obvious errors. Has anyone experienced this or have any clue where to look or what to try next? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Anyone ever implemented Ranking and Row numbers within Report Services.

Purpose is to rank and number based on the group, and within the group on
the details.

Also another question is ..., Can I insert a page break when a certain
numbers of rows are created on a page no matter if it is in a group or not?
