    - Table in a footer I must implement a report by a table in which load rows about a SQL customer invoices table. For the customers exist category, department, product, etc. After extracting these data I must produce some totals by category, product, etc; but it could be more categories or more product to totalize.     - repeat header in excel i have page breaks on Groups so when i export to excel, a sheet is created on each group.     - Error in deployment of Reports Hello, I have built a report on SSRS 2005 and wanted to deploy that report as a URL. However, it gives me an error which reads - "The permissions granted to user '<Machine Name>\IUSR_<Machine Name>' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)". Any idea whats causing this error. I get the same message when I try to log on to http://localhost/reportserver.     - Ctype from string to double not behaving as expected. I tried posting this earlier, but it never showed up. Hopefully I don't double post. I was writing code for a custom dll earlier this morning where I ran into some strange behavior for the IsNumeric function. IsNumeric("$1,0562.00") was returning false I thought that maybe this behavior was being cause by one of the "features" of the IsNumeric function so I decided to do some more testing. I created a web app on the same machine and ran the same code there IsNumeric("$1,0562.00") was returning true with the web app. I delved a little deeper and decided to research just what all IsNumeric does to check for a numeric value. I didn't have to go far. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vblr7/html/vafctisnumeric.asp states "It also returns True if Expression is a String that can be successfully converted to a Double" So I decided to test the following code in each environment. ctype("$1,0562.00",double) Sure enough within the web app it worked fine, but within a reporting services custom dll it threw an exception. Both the instance of reporting services and the webapp are being run and compiled on the same machine. They are both running under the 1.1 framework. It would make more sense to me that the code didn't behave the way I thought it should if it was consistently misbehaving. :-) It's quite possible there is something I'm missing here, but I'm just trying to figure out the reason for the inconsistency.     - Limiting rows in a table while keeping the layout of a report I'm in the process of creating an "invoice" style report with Reporting Services 2000. My issue is that in the Body of the report, I have a section that displays below my table, and that section essentially gets "pushed" down by the contents of the table.     - Sql Code being modified automatically I'm writing a simple query against an OLEDB database that needs a conversion function. What I want to do is like this: SELECT CONVERT(ardtl.SIZE, integer) AS ItemSize, SUM(SHIPPED_QTY) AS shipped_qty ..... Once I type this SQL in the Data tab of the my Reporting Services project, Visual Studio happily breaks my SQL code by changing it to this: SELECT CONVERT(ardtl.SIZE, "integer") AS LureSize, SUM(SHIPPED_QTY) AS shipped_qty ...... Like in a html, if you don't specify a certain width for a column <td> then it is shown dependent on the cells contents.     - Group Sorting in a Table Good morning, I am having a little bit of an issue with the sorting of data in a report. The report works great, but the sorting could be better. I have the data in a Table. I have a list of data that is grouped into three groups. The groupings are by Project, Phase, and CostCode, in that order. I have set the Sorting in the Table to be by Project, then Phase, and then CostCode. All of them Ascending sort. Project sorting and CostCode sorting is working great but the middle one, Phase, is sorting completely opposite. It is sorting Descending. I cannot figure it out. Anyone have any ideas or a tip?     - Programmatically chosing an image in table So we've got a report, and some external images (i.e. sitting on the server's HD). I don't really want to put them in the SQL 2000 database if I don't have to (mainly because I don't know how), but I want one column of the report to be one of 5 images, depending on the value a column in the table. If I embed the images, I can't see a way to chose one of the images in the table; I can just make all the column the same. Or can I just code the HTML line manually... Have to try that, I guess. Any other ideas? If it helps, the report is a table of calls our customers have submitted, and the image displays a bug, dollar sign, plus sign, script page or question mark depending on whether the call is a bug, customization, feature request, script request, or 2nd level support question.     - Index was outside the bounds of the array I have a matrix inside the cell of a table. When I preview the report, it works fine. However, when I click on the Print Preview button, I receive the error "Index was outside the bounds of the array." I am no longer able to view a report after this happens without closing and reopening the program. I am using MVS 2003. Does it not support having a matrix inside of a table?     - Error when Exporting to Excel For the last couple of weeks we've been experiencing problems when try to export reports to Excel either from the VS IDE or the Report Manager Web. After some tinkering and investigation (maybe more luck than judgement) we found it to be an issue relating to Page Breaks on tables.     - Chart Legend sizing Hi, anybody see a way to control the size of the legend. I have have the layout configured as "Row", the font size is 8pt and its positioned centered underneath the chart but it still cuts off part of the text in the legend...and its not even that much text...maybe 15-20 characters on a 8.5x11 sheet landscape! I took the advice of the posted replies and created a sqlclr table function in c# which called the reporting service web service functions and brought back all the permissions for each report listed under a certain folder. I thought this was a cool idea until I started digging into the ReportServer tables.     - Help! Call a code block based on parameter name I have a column heading that needs to call a function based on the value contained in the heading (which is a parameter selected by the user). Example: they can choose system, database, network or application. I have functions which do different translations and the functions are named translateSystem, translateApplication, translateDatabase, etc. I tried to do this by adding a textbox (which I named tbResType) with the following code in it: IIF(Parameters!ResType.value = "nw interface", "translateNetwork", IIF(Parameters!ResType.value = "process", "translateProcess",IIF(Parameters!ResType.value = "database", "translateDatabase", IIF(Parameters!ResType.value = "application", "translateApplication", "translateSystem")))) Then I tried to use that value in the column heading to call the appropriate code block (the function translates into multiple languages so its parm is the language value the user chooses) =code.(ReportItems!tbResType.Value)( Parameters!Language.Value) anyway ... the translation for the first textbox works fine and I see translateProcess when I entered process for the ResType parm but the column heading gives me an error ==> The value expression for the textbox â??textbox6â?? contains an error: [BC30203] Identifier expected.     - Form creation using tables, and including multiple Rows I am creating a form which requires one page of the form to be blank lines. INformation is pulled from the underlying database, and some of those lines are populated with Data. What I need to happen is I must keep this form on one page. So if it is 20 rows to fill the page, and the database pull 3 records, I have 23 rows. I need the row count to stay 20. So if the database pulls 3 records, i still have 20 rows, 17 blank rows and 3 populated rows. Is there some sort of rowcount function or something that I can do to keep this form on one page....and keep the row count consistent regardless if they are populated or not?     - Displaying image I have an image (jpg/bmp) file on the hard drive. I want to be able to point to the path from the report and display the image. The image stored on the hard drive can change, hence I want the image displayed on the report also to change accordingly. The stuff I am trying to do is about the company logo. Currently I have my company's logo displayed, and when the report goes into production I would like the customer's logo to be displayed on the report. Any help is appreciated.     - Changes to MDX when upgrading to AS 2005 I was wondering if anybody has upgraded to AS 2005 without having to change their stored MDX extensively to work with the new AS model. The company I work for has 100's of reports with 100's of MDX queries that might potentially need to be updated because 1) it's just not possible to do things the old way and 2) we want to utilize the new features of SSAS 2005.     - Aggregating data in Matrix I have an AS2005 cube with an RS2005 report. In the matrix I am displaying Unique Vistor counts. On my rows I am displaying a SharePoint Site Structure. By default the matrix will SUM the Unique Vistor Count which of course it shouldn't in this report. In a table report I can use the Aggregate funtion instead of SUM and then include a Scope that reflects the Grouping level. How can I achieve the same result in a Matrix?     - Repeated OutOfMemory Exception Hi, I have the following problem : during an heavy reporting action (40,000 reports) an OutOfMemory exception occurs in ReportingServices (Dundas piechart control) on one specific report whith specific parameters. We have reboot the machine but now when we would generate this report with the same parameters, the same error occurs. (and reporting services process recycles) Additionnal informations : - with different parameters (they return very similar data from database) the report works fine. - on another machine with same configuration, same data, same parameters the report works fine. - we have tried to remove and redeploy the report but error always occurs. - we use Reporting Services 2000 SP2 Any idea ? Anyway, I recall on here mention that in vs.net 2005 you get more control over the parameter area.....can anyone point me to any documentation on how vs.net allows more control of reports than 2003?     - Multi value parameters and default values I have a multi-value parameter. In preview mode, I have to click the drop-down first to see all the values, with the value "(Select All)" placed by RS at the top of the list. But how can I make RS have (Select All) as the DEFAULT, so the user doesn't have to go to the drop-down at all if he wants all the values... ? Any advice greatly appreciated.     - Custom Report Items / TextBox Hi, I have an issue with the textbox control in the report items tool box for designing SQL RS reports. Whenever you create a hyperlink it sets the target property to "_top", this is fine when just using reporting services. However I'm hosting my reports inside a custom ASP.net app using the report viewer so whenever I click one of these links it takes over the whole browser window rather that just opening in the iFrame of the report viewer.... Does anyone know of a way to change this behaviour in RS 2000? I see in 2005 you can create custom report items which may be the answer to my problem but it seems like a lot of work to do something so simple... Any advice appreciated.     - Generated Report Model I'm working on a software project that requires a reporting solution. Of all the solutions we have looked at RS2005 seems to fit best with our product, however, I had a few queries. 1. Our data is stored in a non-relation format but for reporting the end user can select what data the wish to report on and a relational table model is created. Because the table structure is not known until this point, is it possible to create a Report Data Model in code so that we can use the end user report designer. 2. Because of the JIT generation of the relational tables, the table names are not known until the report is requested, is it possible to pass the table names into the report as parameters? Is it possible to use these parameters in th Report Data Model? 3. Is it possible to get column totals and group sub-totals in reports designed in the Report Builder end user designer? 4. Hi!
Has anyone seen a good configurable web part that is designed to view KPIs
from AS 2005?

I want to use KPIs in AS 2005 and render the gauges in a report (preferably
from reporting services) the report must be displayable from sharepoint sites
inside a web part. Then I want to be able to configure parameters that slice
the values by time, product etc...

Earlyer I have been using balanced scorecard accelerator(SQL 2000) web
parts, but this product is not exactly freeware for SQL 2005.
