    - SSRS @parameter passed to function or procedure I would like to do the following in a RS dataset select fnRegProgress(regId, @beginDate, @endDate) from regulations fnRegProgress is a SQL server user defined function but it could also be a stored procedure.     - Using Report URL within the Report I have a report that I need to check the actual URL to determine some hyperlinks within the report. Reason being is that we have two identical copies of a single report for security purposes. This report have links that need to be different depending on where the report is. Instead of having two copies of the same report, I'd like to code the logic into the report itself. Is there a way to do this: IIF(Report.URL = "x", "a", "b") ???     - Default values for report parameters gets lost in Report Server I have a report which takes few parameters. I have set some defalut value for them. The default values work good when i Preview teh report. But when i deploy the report to the Report Server, the default values get lost and the user has to type them all again.     - Transperant color in stacked bar Hi Since reporting services does not come with a waterfall graph, I was trying to use a stacked bar chart and customize it to resemble a waterfall chart... I would like the color of the bottom portion of a stacked bar to be transperant so that is is not visible in the chart. The only piece in the graph visible would be the upper portion.     - AuthzInitializeContextFromSid: Win32 error: 234 Hi, SSRS 2000 SP2 I am getting the above error which we have seen before in this group with subscriptions with emailed reports (not links which work fine) and file shares. Previous posts have alluded this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842423/en-us which suggests an issue with the Report Server Service account. However, here: 1. I am using a domain user account 2. I am using the same user account on another Reporting Server on the same domain where subscriptions and file shares are working fine Both servers seem to have similar configuration files except for the encrypted connection info, the Installation ID and the Instance Name (which for some reason is set to MSSQLSERVER instead of Microsoft.Reports).     - Unable to access Report Manager Hi there, Since enabling anonymous access for the virtual directory 'ReportServer' in IIS, I can no longer access Report Manager ('Site Settings' link goes away). The reports that users can access are not data sensitive, so I would prefer not to use any type of security mechanism (e.g. forms authentication) and yet still be able to manage the reports through the Site Settings page.     - Getting at <appSettings> keys from expressions I've added some keys in <appSettings> and now I want to report back their value from within a report using an expression. = System.Configuration.AppSettings("KEYNAME") This returns AppSettings' is not a member of 'Configuration' Whenever I try to Preview or Build. Now I realize that the web.config I added my keys to is the report server webconfig.. and thus when I build and or preview on my local machine it can't find these keys but how can I get around this?     - Keep Table Group on Same Page I have a report that consists of a table containing invoices grouped by Customer. I'd like to keep all invoices for any given customer on the same page, but without needing a page break after each customer (each page can fit about 12 or so groups on it). Does anyone know how to do this? I found a thread dated 5/20/2005 called "Control Page Breaking in Detail (Keep Together)". I think some of the people on that thread are also trying to do what I want to do. I tried the method suggested by Matt Temple at the end of the thread, but this did not have the desired effect. Syntax error converting datetime from character string" The variable is declared in the report parameters as an integer. The code works fine in query analyzer and also works fine when I declare this variable as an int with the code under the data tab. The error seems to be related to the report parameter. Any ideas?     - Data Processing Extension - Visual Studio Report Wizard I have a data processing extension. Everything is configured and working fine. When I create a new report in Visual Studio, it displays the Report Wizard to create the data source for the report. It REQUIRES a connection string before Next will be enabled. The connection string for our data processing extension would not be anything like the standard DB stuff. QUESTION: Is there a way to jump in on the Report Wizard and have my own UI help the user with the connection string while the Report Wizard in VS sets up the data source?     - Full Install for SP2 I have one production SQL server 2000 with Reporting services SP2 installed on it. I have a redundent IIS 6.0 just purchased. I went to install RS on it and point it to the production machine but it won't install because the CD I have is RS SP1 which isn't compatible with SP2.     - PDF Export / Bold Text / Underline text decoration I'm having a problem when I have a text item in a table - the text is bold and underlined; preview/print preview looks fine; but when I export the report to PDF, the underline extends beyond the text to the right. If the text is normal weight, the underline is fine. Is this a known issue? (maybe fixed w/ RS SP2?? - I looked at the bug list and saw some PDF fixes, but not for this specific problem).     - Toolbar Style Sheet We changed some settings (i.e. background color) on the Toolbar Style Sheet (htmlviewer.css). This works fine, and we can see the changes displayed on our development server. However, when deployed to production server, the changes are not applied.     - Help with ReportItems I want to sum a field within the body section of my report and display that textbox around that area, but some how it keeps saying that report items can only be displayed within headers or footers. Is there a way to sum in custom code? For Example: Public Shared Function SumTotal(ByVal Total as String) As String Total = SUM(ReportItems!textbox2.Value) Return Total End Function I know this code doesn't work, but kind of what I want to do. If I do a sum field within my body section, it will not sum correctly because of grouping that I use in my report. I'm using the delegation (defautcredentialcache) to send the user authentication to RS. RS and my web application are on the same server. this works fine in 2 cases: * NT authentication used in both virtual directories (/reportserver & / mycustomapp) * Basic authentication used for /mycustomapp but NT authentication for /reportserver But I want to setup the Basic authentication for both the /reportserver & / mycustomapp virtual folders. I don't understand why using the default credential cache doesn't works. my current work around is to detect if I'm in Basic authentication mode, then a create a networkcredential object base on the current user login & password. does it a RS related issue? or an ASP.Net one?     - Visibility Expression Help Please I'm trying to use the following expression to hide various text boxes in a report depending on the age of an invoice: =(CType((Fields!InvoiceDate.Value), DateTime).Subtract(Now).Days > 30) And (CType((Fields!InvoiceDate.Value), DateTime).Subtract(Now).Days < 60) The expression seems to be returning True regardless of the age of the invoice. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Is "And" not valid?     - Dynamic placement of the matrix element. I have a matrix that depending on the results of the dataset can have anywhere from 2 to 14 columns. I am forced to locate this matrix on the left side of the page, so when I have 14 columns returned by the dataset it occupies almost whole width of the page. But when only two columns are returned it looks ugly because it is occupying only small portion of the left corner. 1. Is it possible to change the width of the column dynamically based on the number of returned column? 2. Is it possible to change the 'left' location of the matrix dynamically based on the number of returned columns in the dataset.     - Report Parameter Processing Error while viewing in Report Manager Hello, I am using Reporting Services of SqlServer 2000. I am creating reports using VS2003 as Report Designer. And finally these reports are supposed to be accessed/used thru Report Explorer and/or Report Viewer WEBPARTS in a sharepoint portal site. Now in some reports, there is a need of parameterized query. This query will be generated using a parameter which will have its value from a custom assembly method call. this custom assembly, in turn, uses a Web Service to get the value. There is no need to prompt for value as default value should be enough. Every thing works fine in Report Designer Preview Mode. But When reports are deployed in report server, then on viewing, these reports give following error: Reporting Services Error -------------------------------------------------------------- Error during processing of 'Param Name' report parameter.     - HOW: Link to external webpage from a report? I am porting a ASP reporting application to use 99.99% SQL-Server 2000 Reporting Services. How do i add a parameter value to a textbox which is a Jump to URL?? I want to jump to a webpage to enter data for a specific invoiceID. One of my reports is a debtors arrears overview. The user can see comments made regarding communcations from the collections department with a debtor. In our current system, at the comments a user can add a comment in a textbox, then klik on a ADD COMMENT button which will ofcourse update the database and refresh the report with the new comment. However, in SQL-Server 2000 Reporting Services there is no textboxes, so my idea is to put a link on the report, to link to an external text-entry ASP.NET popup page providing an InvoiceID as paramter. It does not work. I have tried to put a textbox on the report, then set its Action property to "Jump to URL", which is fine, but how do i specify a extra parameter to that external URL? Telling it to jump to http://myserver/debtors/inputComment.aspx is not problem. BUT: How can i add an extra parameter such as InvoiceID which i receive from a dataset? The idea is to then have a Jump to URL created such as http://myserver/debtors/inputComment.aspx?InvoiceID=123456. It should be extremely easy to do, but i have no idea how to achieve it? Here is what i have done. 1. Created a Customer Arrears Overview Report. Works fine. 2. In a workaroundeffort i created Dataset dsExternalLink is of type text: SELECT invoiceID from tblInvoices WHERE InvoiceID = @InvoiceID 3. Added a textbox onto the report, set it action to Jump to URL http://myserver/debtors/inputComment.aspx?InvoiceID= This is where i get stuck. How do i add a parameter value to the Jump to URL?     - Guys Need Help We have written one custom assembly, which queries database and returns a flag yes or no. When we run report in designer environment it is behaving fine, expression of the text box, where we are calling that method gives yes/no fine. But when we deploy it to staging server we get #Error as output in the text box expression. We have set all kinds of permissions given under http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=842419. Need Help.     - mixed https and http warning We are using a web farm implementation with a big web app where an F5 in the DMZ provides our certificates and SSL access to all of the web stuff on our site and once the request passes the DMZ enterprise we are not using SSL. Our testers are seeing something like: "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items." - This we believe is due to RS adding http: addresses in the response. I've tried tweaking RootURL in the RS configfile, but it seems to have no effect. Is there a way to make sure that any hrefs, etc in the output stream are configured with the url we want (https://<load balanced address>)? We are in the process of adding RS to our implementation and haven't configured SSL for RS because we believe that the F5 will take care of it.     - Cache Report Using Data-Driven Subscription Hey all, I have a report that is setup to be cached for 24 hours after the first execution. I have also setup a data-driven subscription to dump all possible variations of the report to a file share in hopes that the first user to hit the report will not have to wait for it to be rendered, but will pull a cached copy. Having said that, it doesn't seem to work as I was hoping in that when I execute the report for the first time after the data-driven subscription has run successfully, the report renders itself rather than pulling the cached version. Any thoughts on this or a different method to cache a report for all variations before a user actually executes a variant? I have a report that executes through a normal subscription and this successfully creates a cached copy. Why wouldn't it work for a dd subscription? When I click on a report I recieve a basic "The page cannot be displayed" error. I even tried just "basic" authentication within IIS but still get the same error. The server hosts both components (SQL Server & IIS) on a Windows 2003 SP1. No special authentication, not a web farm, do I still need to get Enterprise edition? Help... Is there anyway to include additional attachments to emails that are set-up
as subscriptions? The additional attachments would NOT be reports/documents
generated by reporting services.
