    - Printing blank rows to fill a page I have a report which is a simple sign up list for an event. On a page, I print out known attendees from a table such as: Name Ph Number Age Address Xavier 123-123-1234 20 123 1st Street Bob 234-234-2345 30 234 2nd Street If the page is not filled, then I want to print blank lines (each row is underlined) to fill the page. Currently, I've only been able to print out a finite number of empty rows as defined by the report grid.     - Inconsistent Error: Subreport could not be shown -- timeout proble I'm running several hundred parameterized versions of the same report on a single shared (timed) schedule. The reports have a dozen or more sub-reports. I'm getting sporadic instances of the report where I get the infamous "Error: Subreport could not be shown." Usually all of the subreports fail, but sometimes the failure occurs late in the report. When that happens, all of the rest of the sections fail, except the last section which is text-only and has no data connection. It appears that the problem is related to the data connection for that report. I have the Site Settings page set for "Do not timeout report execution". When the reports fail, I am able to generate the report using the failed parameters through a manual request, with no errors. The problem appears only when I run the reports on a schedule. Some of the reports have no data. But there are reports with no data that generate correctly (they have no data, and no un-user-friendly error message).     - How to make comparison characteristics equal for both years (2004 vs.2005)? I was trying to create a simple report to compare two years' sales by region (2004 vs. 2005). We used to have 13 regions before 2005. Now we only have 12 (DOM013 was removed starting 2005). How can I make DOM013 to appear in the comparison table even if we have no data for it in 2005?     - Datetime Filter For one of the tables on my report i need to allow only the records where a certain datetime field has Null value. I have not been able to figure out the expression in the filter that would do this. Any ideas?     - Veritas Cluster-Failover Are there special considerations for installing Reporting Services in a clustered SQL environment? Specifically a Veritas cluster in Failover (Active/passive) mode? I know the installer seems to expect you to install to the default directory, but the cluster environment uses multiple named instances of SQL Server- so it is not really possible to use the default.     - Report Security over the Internet We need to allow users to access our Reports through the Internet. We authenticate them using our own custom code, and I would like to then allow them to see reports. We've been using the Forms authentication security extension, but I'm wondering if there is a better way. Is there a way to do this using Windows Security/Active Directory? Obviously I don't want to maintain a seperate Active Directory account for each one of our Internet Users. Once I've authenticated them (using our own security code) I just want to map them to one approved account to run reports.     - Fields Won't Change I am creating data sets using Oracle stored procedures. I changed a column from varchar to number on a table that one of the stored procedures is pulling from. Reporting Services does not recognize the change. It still shows the field as varchar for that column. It won't change, I've tried on a new report, In a new project, I've tried renaming the stored procedure. I've even tried renaming the cursor. Any other suggestions?     - SubReport + Charts I'm assuming that you can use the "jump to" report to run a subreport from a pie chart. I would like to be able to click on a section of the pie chart and have it display the detail records that make up that portion of the pie chart. Has anyone worked with such?     - How to integrate many authorization database in one RS I can't figure the best way to do this: I have many web applications with their own authorisation mechanism. I have one Report Server containing all reports of all my applications. I want to extension Reporting Services security to integrate our own authorization.     - Error 25602 on install We're running SQL/Server 2000 on a Win2003 server and are attempting to load the enterprise edition of Reporting Services. However, installation fails with an unexpected error message and gives the error number 25602. Unfortunately, we are unable to find a description of this error anywhere on Microsoft's website.     - SOAP Api bug or no? I'm trying to simply replace functionality of the improperly rendering report viewer with my own... and I've found what I dont know to classify as a bug or not... I can render reports just fine but the images/other streams in them dont render at all... Heres what I've got. string streamRoot = "ReportImage.aspx?report=" + Server.UrlEncode(reportPath) + "&streamid="; which I throw in my device info, in the report view etc. I set Session["rs"] to the reportingservices option (following an existing example) as well as the parameter value collection etc. Effectively the parameters that get fed to the rs.RenderStream() method are (substituted in for variable values) rs.RenderStream("/SampleReports/Product Line Sales","HTML4.0","cbf6cee8-22e3-412f-93d3-8f22680d8ceb",null,null,parameterValues,out encoding, out mimetype); the parameter value collection is valid as well. Before I recall seeing something along the lines of "user SLO\Wes doesnt exist in database... but the actual exception I am getting is: {"The stream cannot be found. The stream identifier that is provided to an operation cannot be located in the report server database. --> The stream cannot be found. The stream identifier that is provided to an operation cannot be located in the report server database." } My question is, if I can render the html of a report, why could I not render the stream that I fetch with the GUID that reportserver gives to ME...     - Problem with charting I am having a problem with RS charting a bar graph. I am using a stored proc that uses 2 parameters: (@StartDate, @EndDate) From this there are 3 sets of data returned: (Pts In, Pts Out, Pts Txt). The stored proc then seperates times of the day into 24 slots: (0-1, 1-2, 2-3... 23-0). Then it returns a count for that time slot, for that set, for that day.     - Watermark Hello, I need a optional watermark (some colored retangles) on every report page. I have tried to add retangles with different background colors. Doesn't work because the retangles match the size of the including table (if the table has half size of page, the retangle also -> Should fill the page).     - Export Excel : formatting has number with a formula in data report Hello, I have a problem when I export my report to Excel : the cells are not considered as numbers. In my report, I have a table witch fills data formatting with 1 decimal if the data is not null. It's important because 0 and null must be considered as different values.     - Force chart to display all x axis labels I have an xy scatter chart that plots computer outages versus days of the month. Is there a way to force the chart to show all x axis labels? eg. for the month of May I want the x axis to show all 31 labels and associated tick marks (1-May through to 31-May).     - Export to Excel with Expand Collapse Feature not working after SP2 After installing SP2 on Reporting Services, the Expand/Collapse functionality is lost when Exporting to Excel 2003 or XP.     - Viewing Reports Problem I rolled out reporting services to 180 extrenal users with their own personal pcs and I have a few extrenal users that are unable to view any of the reports. They can get logged into reporting services, see the list of reports available to them, but when they click on a report to view it they get a message that says "You are not authroized to view this page", "You do not have permission to view this direcory or page using the credentials you supplied" and gives an "HTTP 401.2 - Unauthorized: Logon failed due to server configuration Internet Information Services" I'm fairly sure that it's a setting on the users computer, but I'm not sure where to have them look. When the user logs in on someone else's computer they don't have the problem.     - Redering Nightmare I finally finesh the report and everything looks fantastic in VS and on the Report Manager. However, as soon as I try to export it to any other format "all hell breaks loose" title and text boxes go into one page and chart to another.     - SRS SP2 Installation Web Farm I am installing SP2 on a web farm. When I originally installed Reporting services I pointed the database to a separate server. Now when installing the SP the database didn't get updated with the SP and I can't get the SP to run on the server with the database.     - Report Parameter risk Hi, I have implemented a Single Sign On using Form authentication for my asp.net application and reporting services using security extension. Its working great. Now the problem is when we render the parametrised report using URL access, parameter bar is kept visible. One of the parameter is userID along with date range parameters.     - Group header doesn't repeat I have a group header on a table and I have checked off "Repeat Group Header" I want this group header to repeat. I have about 6 or 7 groups on the table in total, and some of those groups contain a table with data in the table header only (for easier control of the layout). The group I want to repeat does not have a table in it just one row that has a few cells. Am I doing something wrong or is reporting services not working properly? I think it's the latter..     - Report Parametrs Simple Question Hi, I have a matrix control with actiondefined on the "Data" cell of the matrix. The action is jump to the details report. Now I have 4 parameters. Out which 2 CAN be sometimes nulls or not defined. @month has Fields!Month.Value @Item_Code has Fields!Item_Code.value. I tried setting the value of these 2 parameters as: @month : ISNULL(Fields!Month.Value) @ItemCode : ISNULL(Fields !Item_Code.value) But is get the error " The value expression for text box Quantity has error. Hi,
I have a matrix in my report and it has row groupings as well as subtotals.
The report works fine in all formats except for CSV in which the subtotal
column never appears. I have tried setting the "Output Data" to "Yes" and it
didn't help.
I was thinking of writing my own CSV Renderer but it seems to be complicated
for a Matrix. Does know any workaround for this?
