    - Does it automatically bleed? Hi all I "think" I'm seeing this correctly - I'm setting up a small gift book to print "two-up". The finished size is 6" wide by 4" high. Two of these books print in a 6" wide by 9" high space - with an inch in between for trimming apart. So, I'm setting my page to be 6" wide by 9" high. Do I see correctly that it is allowing me about an eighth of an inch of bleed on the outside edges of the page? (If this is true - that's good - that's what I want).     - Cannot create custom borders Users cannot create custom borders in Publisher 2000. Admins can. So I looked after admin created a custom border and the location it created it was c:\program files\microsoft office\office\pubbrd. The permissions on this directory do not allow users to write to it. So being the genious that I am I gave them the write attribute and now no one can create custom boarders because it says "permissions on the directory have been changed. Try running setup again." I changed the permissions back but this doesn't fix it. I'm trying a reinstall of Office disk 2 because that's what I've read on the boards. How do I give permissions to users so they can create custom boarders in Publisher. From what I've been reading this is a problem but there are no answers. Come on MS help out here.     - Calendar Design I have Publisher 2000 and 2003. I want to do a Calendar which will be printed on 11x17 paper in booklet form. That is, one 8 1/2 by 11 page (with picture) is on top when opened and the other, with the calendar is on the bottom. I can get a "book fold" for an 11 x 17 but only 'sideways' - like a book. When I try to change the dimensions and/or the landscape/portrait, it won't just 'turn' the page but tries to make a long, narrow 'book.' Is there any way around this other than my turning everything on its side myself? Hmm, maybe I could turn my monitor on the side?? Suggestions?     - Docs opening in new window Hey all, Is there a way to make publisher documents open using MDI instead of SDI so they all open in a single publisher instance instead of opening new windows, etc... The tools...options menu is devoid of any real customization options and I'm wondering if this is possible, it's quite annoying to go from pub2k to pub2k3 and have every document open into a new window, or every time you open a document and go to close it you close the whole app. instead.     - Animated graphics in Publisher emails should stay animated Whenever I create emails in Publisher 2003 they come out great. However, I have noticed that animated gifs do not stay animated when I send out the emails with Publisher.     - Publisher Crop Problems When I installed publisher 2002 I had the ability to crop in many shapes, hearts, shamrocks, etc. I also had the ability to correct red eyes. This feature was on the right side as another window. I also could open a picture in publisher and directly edit it. Now I open a picture from explorer, all I get is text. I can open the picture by inserting it. I no longer have the ability to crop in shapes or edit red eyes. Version is Publisher 2002 (10.4629.4219) SP2. I uninstalled with the disc, then reinstalled.     - Downloaded clips don't show (Pub '02) Hello! Suddenly I am having trouble with downloaded clips! I select clips on-line, click download, it shows them downloading. Then the clip organizer opens, but it doesn't say "adding clips" and I look and they are nowhere to be found.     - Publisher word art transparency I have a user who is using Publisher 2002 SP3. She has a postcard and uses WordArt and has set the text in the WordArt to be transparent so the image beneath the wordart can be seen. Everything appears the way she wants it, but when it prints the text has no transparency at all. She is printing to a Ricoh Aficio CL7000 using the RPCS driver. Is there someplace else she should check to make the text transparent, or is this an issue with the print driver. There is no automatic limkage, and when I try to make the linkage *from* Acrobat, I get a message saying that there is "No .pdf file of that name" (Obvious I suppose as the command I'm using is "create a .pdf file.)     - Problem with Pub 97 - Win 98SE I have Publisher 97 which I have used for years with a win 95 computer with no problems. I retired the Win 95 machine and installed Pub 97 on a Win 98SE machine. When Options are set to "Use Startup dialog box" the program opens with the Page Wizard visible. Almost immediately a window opens labeled Assert. The message in the window is, "File undialog.cpp Line 1396". There are three buttons, Abort, Retry and Ignore. Pressing Abort brings up a window which says, "Program Error, Closing current program, if problem persists, contact vendor for this program." Pressing the only button (Close) closes Pub 97. Pressing Retry causes a crash located in PUBDLG.DLL. Pressing ignore causes the Assert window to close. However, about 2 seconds later it reappears; this is repeatable. If I click cancel before the Assert window reappears, the Page Wizard closes and the program acts normally except the red margin on the page is sometimes gray. If I click on the Blank Page or Existing Publication tabs before the Assert window reappears the problem disappears. If I turn off "Use Startup dialog box" in Options the problem doesn't appear unless I select "Create New Publication" from the file menu where exactly the same events occur. I have tried installing Pub 97 on another Win 98SE machine and the problem does not happen on this machine. I suspected some possible file corruption so I de-installed Pub 97 and re-installed it again. The same things occur. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here?     - invisible graphics and tables I have upgraded my computer to a P4 3Ghz and FX5600 256Mb Graphics Card and New Matrox Hard Drive.. Since formatting and re-installation of PUBLISHER i can not see my Tables or Word art and a few graphics only the Fonts are Visible.     - Formatting Problem - From Word to Publisher I've created a blank booklet of x no. of pages with page size of h7.25" x w4.75" with 0.5" margins all around. I've been provided with material on floppies to incorporate into the booklet. The material is in the wrong font type and size and needs considerable change in other formatting. This I've done by opening the document into a WORD document of the same dimensions as stated above and tailoring the content to this WORD document. There are some centering, indents, right or left alignment. When I then try to insert this into the booklet in Publisher, some of the formatting is not honored by Publisher; e.g., left aligns align to the text box margin instead of the 0.5" margins.
