    - PUB2000 Fonts Problem Howdy all.. This may not specifically be a pub problem. When go to print a Pub file that has Vivaldi and Avante Garde fonts it will print fine to my Lexmark Optra E310 - although "sometimes" I may get a font error - abt embedding?... but it will still print ok. However, if I print to PDF Writer (Acrobat 4.05) it won't give me any errors but it will subsitute some weird (and ugly) font for both Vivaldi & Avante Garde. I had this problem a few months ago on an older computer, but have since installed Pub2000 & Acrobat 4.05 on my new XP Pro machine. The fonts themselves must be ok since I've used them in other programs...I must have something set incorrectly or something in Acrobat?     - select a range of pages to delete in MS Publisher Please tell me I am not the only one who thinks that deleting one (or two pages if you are in the two-page-spread view) is obnoxiously time-consumming. There should be a dialog box that lets you choose which pages to delete. In the help files, it even tells you that it is best to delete four pages at a time, but you still have to delete pages one or two pages at a time. This is ridiculous!     - Pls help - Best graphics format for high quality brochure I'm making a high quality glossy brochure using Publisher. I created a very nice graphic in Photoshop that I want to use as the background for each Publisher page. When I import the file the graphic degrades somewhat.     - Shading cell in a table I am creating a calendar 12 month. I set it up using the table Publisher provides. I want to shade only certain cells. Every time I try it will shade it on every month.     - M/S Publisher 2003 with M/S XP Professional OS After a hard disk problem last week (would not boot) I bought a new hard drive only and had it installed, afterward I was informed that the hard drive had become unbootable so my data and files are still there. With the new hard drive containing the same XP Pro Operating System as the old hard drive, I then designated new hard drive master and the old one slave. I then went in and installed the very same M/S Publisher 2003. I can not gain access to my personal user files off the old hard drive. I am able to access, move, copy and edit all the other user files except for my own. (In case it would help to know I'm designated Administrator with the same passwords on both systems) Is there any hope of saving my data that is on my old hard drive?     - Formatting and Styles throughout I have a question for you about formatting and styles. I've used these in many programs and am well-versed using them in Word. I have now to do so in Publisher and am new to the program. The question is: how are styles most easily applied in a large document when things like headers and then body-text are grouped in style but not location. For example, a list of features and their operation. The headers and body-text are mixed throughout. Do I create a separate text file for each feature heading and then a separate file for each text body that is associated? If so, how do I keep them linked?     - Frequent "Error must shutdown" My Publisher 2003 has been giving me an error message and restarting for months now. Sometimes I can work for 30 minutes, sometimes it shuts down after only a couple of minutes. It seems to happen when I complete a project, and go to the next one.     - Four-up postcards not aligned right I'm using Publisher 2003 to print postcards four to a page. They are "off" by about 1/4 inch to the left. This isn't awful for the two postcards on the left side of the page, but the two on the right side of the page are unusable. How do I fix this problem? I used Publisher's postcard format, 4.25" by 5.5". I've tweaked the postcard size down a bit in Page Setup (to 5.35") in order to insert a .1" side margin and a .2" gap between the two postcards (it's called a "horizontal gap," based on a portrait orientation, even though I'm printing landscape). So I've uninstalled and reinstalled all of office (the repair function wouldn't work) and my graphics still won't appear in Publisher (other than those created with a wmf format, Gif, Tiff, JPEG all are invisible).     - Question on Flyer Options, Tear Offs Office 2003 Good Morning, I have Office 2003 SP1, and have figured out how to use the tear offs feature through the templates and through the design gallery. That's not my problem. My question is, when you start Publisher, and select New Pub from Design>Flyer>Sale> then one of the templates with the phone tear-off, once the flyer is designed, why then when the Flyer Options are visible is the Tear Offs section grayed out? What would I need to do to make that a valid selection and change my layout? The same goes for the Graphics section. It is also grayed out.     - Postscript Printing Problem Until yesterday I was able to print all my Publisher documents just fine on my Okidata 5151N printer. Now for reasons unknown to me I keep getting a ($*)#& message saying my printer doesn't support the version of Postscript required by the program. Create a text box, set the fill to "No Fill", place the text box over the
picture.

While the Text Frame is selected go Ctrl+T to make the Text Frame Transparent.
You will also need to send the Picture to the Background.
