Try copying/pasting into a Word document.

Or, if it does not need to be edited, save as a PDF and send in that format

The OP said it did need to be edited.

Lesson: If multiple people are going to be working on the same file, get
together before starting and find out which program everyone has in common.

If they are lucky, everyone's computer would have better hardware than I do
