I have Publisher 2003 and want to be able to save a catalog I am working on
to a disc so I can take it to a friends house to work on. Is there any way I
can save the file so it ISN'T a read only file?

Burning it on the CD is when it becomes
read only.

Copy the file from the CD to your friend's
hard drive. Then...open it in Publisher.

The OP will most likely have to go to File properties on the hard disk
and untick Read Only.

I guess that's possible, but when I copy
a .pub file from a CD to my hard drive...
it's no longer read only.
