Cannot apply Clipart as Borderart
Hi, I am working on a school network (Windows 2003). Workstations are XP,
Office version is 2000. We also have mandatory profiles for students so that
no changes are saved to the local machine when they log off. In Publisher,
there is an option to apply a clipart image as borderart on an object or text
box. I get the error message that says Publisher cannot import the file.
However, when logged on as an adminstrator, the process works fine. I am
assuming this is a permission error but do not know what I should be changing
the permissions on.
any suggestions?

Clip art in Publisher 2002
PLEASE NOTE BEFORE INSTALLING SP2, I DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM!
When I want to modify a piece of clip art in 2002, I go to "ungroup" and I
now get a message stating the folowing: This is an imported picture, not a
group. Do you want to convert it to a Microsoft Drawing object? I select
"yes" and my clip art becomes a white box, nothing is visible. Very rarely
did Publisher ask me this same question, but when I did I would still get the
graphic and be able to modify it how I needed, that is no longer the
situation. Again, I used to modify my clip art in Publisher all the time
before installing SP2, but now it is not allowing me. PLEASE HELP! Thanks! Tag: save Publisher Stionery to Outlook Tag: 128435

File size issue in Publisher 2000
Hi All,
We are working with a simple 40 page booklet that has a simple 40k JPG and a
paragraph of text on 36 of the pages.
The file size of the document is already over 21mb. I have looked at the
graphics to see if anything was too large and everything is fairly small (and
low res).
We are having problems working with the document and it seems to crash often
while saving.
Can anyone explain the size issue? Is there a way to get the size back down
to something manageable?
Thanks,

screen colors
Somewhere along the way the colors that appear are not the same as what is
suppose to be for fonts and clipart. They are not shown the same as when I am
choosing the color from the color chart or orig clipart picture.
For example I choose a clipart with red hearts, when I import it it becomes
orange. If I pick a purple font it fills in as brown. Now it all prints
correctly but it is very hard to design when the colors on the screen are all
messed up. How do you fix this, does anyone know? I am still using
publisher 2000. THanks Tag: save Publisher Stionery to Outlook Tag: 128412

Corrupt color scheme registry key
Publisher 2000 ~ When I create a new publication using the wizard, I always
get a "color scheme registry key is either missing or corrupt..." error, and
am instructed to rerun Setup to reinstall the color scheme registry. Running
setup and reinstalling the entire program or allowing the program to
detect/repair does not solve the problem. Moving forward with the wizard, I
am given the Bluebird scheme or Custom (monochrome) as my only choices. How

How do I restart page numbering in Publisher 2000?
I'm using Publisher 2000 and need to begin page numbering on the third page
of the document, but it should print with "1" on that page (not 3) and
continue from there.
Internet help for later versions of Publisher says to right click on that
page in the Page Navigation tool and insert a section. Please tell me
there's a way to restart page numbering within a document in Publisher 2000!

File Selection and New file names
Question #1: When in the "Open File" dialog box of Publish 2002, the CTL and
SHIFT keys do not work to select multiple files. This works in Word 2002 and
Excel 2002 and also worked in Publish 2000. Is there a setting to allow this?
Question #2: How do you get Publish 2002 to return to the folder of the
"last" file opened when opening another file? Sometimes it returns to "My
Docs", other times to the last folder (within my Docs) with apparently no
logic, mostly returning to My Docs.
Comment: Same as AB24U's message 1-24-05. When started using Publish 2002
on new computer and opening files created in Publish 2000, it did not open
the file as its own named file, but kept opening them as a new untitled Pub
file. However it started working ok later with no change on my part. Tag: save Publisher Stionery to Outlook Tag: 128387

pub to pdf
Recently, I "printed" a pub multipage document in PDF format, so a friend
would be able to read it on his machine without a Publisher. However, what I
got happens to be a document ready for printing (4 pages on one sheet of
paper), not for reading: in the first frame, there are pages 26 and 1, on
the second - pages 2 and 25, and so on...
Is there a way to save a pub document in PDF (or any other common) format
which will make it easy readable?

Publisher 97 undialog.cpp error
I have scanned the previous discussion on this error and have not found any suggested solutions. For 3 years now, I've been running Publisher 97 on my XP computer with absolutely no problems at all. I suddenly began getting an ASSERT box, which has File: undialog.cpp Line: 1396 listed and 3 choices, all of which ultimately end w/bailing from the program (ignore only leads to frustration). I have uninstalled and installed 97 twice. I do not have ZoomText and never heard of it until today. So here's my question - What IS the solution to this difficulty? Will I ever be able to use my Publisher 97 again? Thanks!

Can this, and if so, how?
I'm using Publisher 2000, Windows 98SE.
I have a rectangle image file (a blending of the USA and Italian flags).
What I'd like to do is make it an oval. This I can do. But I'd like it to

Can it be done? If so, please share on how. If it is in the Help files, what

Publisher repeatedly opens files as a new untitled document
I just upgraded from Microsoft Works 2001 suite to MS Office 2003 on my
laptop. On another computer I was running Publisher 2000. I copied a Pub
2000 file to My Docs and opened it with my new Pub 2003. Two big problems...
it doesn't recognize a number of fonts, which is fine except that I keep
selecting to permanently replace the unrecognized fonts w/ Times New Roman so
I could customize the file from scratch w/ available Pub 2003 fonts, but it
doesn't save that option, it keeps making the same prompt each time I open
it. The other main problem is that when it does open the file, it doesn't
open it as its own named file which I can update and save over it... It keeps
opening it as a new untitled Pub file (as if it were a template, but it is
not) and then if I want to overwrite the original file I have to do a "save
as" and manually select the old file. Why is this program acting so strangely? Tag: save Publisher Stionery to Outlook Tag: 128298
