    - Adding Border Rectangle Fouls Picture Wrapping in Publisher 2003 I already found the answer to the problem described below courtesy of a previous post by Mary Sauer (Thurs, Sep 1 2005 7:19 am, under the topic "Wrapping text around pictures in MS Publisher 2003"). However, this is such unexpected and unwelcome behavior that it seems worth a further posting and discussion. Scenario: (1) Create a Publisher page with one or more textboxes containing text. (2) Add pictures and set wrapping as desired (Square; Tight, etc). (3) Now choose the rectangle tool and choose it to add a border around the entire page. Voila - the pictures now all float over the text, regardless of the chosen wrapping. Solution: Send the rectangle to the back. The solution is not intuitively obvious, and - in my view - it should not be necessary. Adding the rectangle should not impact picture display the way it does. This seems to me to be a design bug that Microsoft should look to fix. However, given that this is the current behavior, for better or for worse, and it took a great deal of searching to uncover Mary's post, perhaps the extra keywords in my subject line will help future searchers find the answer more quickly.     - Can't see text box fill colour I have recently reloaded Office Small Business following a hard drive crash. I made some changes to display in Control Panel Accessibility this time that weren't there before. I've changed back to default but the problem continues. Previously I could fill or border text boxes and see the results in both normal view and print preview. Now the fill/border colour is only visible in print preview. Borders appear as black and fills as white in normal view. Text colours are unaffected. This is making life difficult as white text in a black fill just disappears until I go to print preview.     - Urgent: Navigation Bar points to the pc instead of the index files I am reposting this because I can't find my original post. 1.     - Numeric Field Overflow (pubmgr9 error) I have been using Publisher for 6 years now. This must be something easy to fix. I am mail merging a Publisher 2000 document with an Excel 2000 list. It will merge a few of the names and addresses, then error with "Numeric Field Overflow". The text box it is merging into has plenty of space for the new text to fit into. The "Help" screen explains "overflow", which any intermediate user should understand anyway, but Numeric Overflow has nothing in the help menu.     - setting gutter Trying to use Publisher to publish a book. I need to find a way to set gutter and it would be great to be able to set mirror margins (as you can in word). Can this be done in Publisher? Specifications should look like this: Leave at least .5" margins on all your pages. Most books will require a gutter of .2" to .3". A gutter provides a little bit of extra margin on the spine edge of your pages, making your book easier to read without putting too much stress on the spine. For coil-bound books, the coils bite about 5/16" (8mm) on the spine edge, but we would suggest a gutter of 3/8" (9mm). Follow these directions to set your margins: Microsoft Word: Choose Page Setup from the File menu, then use the Margins tab. When adding a gutter, make sure to select Mirror Margins. I publish a newsletter for a charity and would like to improve and vary the
presentation. How do I make a standard photo go into an oval or other
autoshape? I have done it once but can't recreate it. I have windows XP,
publisher 03 and works suite 04. My photos are usually JPEG.
