    - error messages keep getting error messages whenever i try to install publisher 2000 off of cds... it says that my window installer is not installed properly or that i may be running in safe mode. i have tried to reinstall windows installer, but still gives me same error off of the microsoft download page, it still says that it can not download. i am not running in safe mode and am operating on windows 2000 system. please help me.     - create text box with Border Art using VB Hi, Publisher 2002/Office XP Can anyone tell me how to create a border round a text box (one of the built-in border art ones) while creating it from VB? The box is created thus (so far):- Set pubdoc = appPub.ActiveDocument.Pages(1) With pubdoc Set TextBox = .Shapes.AddTextbox _ (Orientation:=pbTextOrientationHorizontal, _ Left:=144, Top:=144, _ Width:=72, Height:=18) With TextBox .TextFrame.TextRange.Text = "some text" End With End With I created one in Publisher, then used VB to open the document and work through the Shapes collection to show me the styles etc, but I can't see anything that tells me what the Border Art style is set to. According to the help, the Line property "Returns a LineFormat object that contains line formatting properties for the specified shape. (For a line, the LineFormat object represents the line itself; for a shape with a border, the LineFormat object represents the border.)", but I can see no property in LineFormat that mentions Border Art, and no listing of any style names anywhere. (.Shape.Line.Style = 1 in both a text box with a border, and in one without, so doesn't seem to be the style property that sets it). Can anyone point me in the right direction please?     - 2-Page Mail Merge Custom Document I'm trying to print a 4-up postcard (1/2 page on 11x17 paper) that is has a mail merge on one page and grahics on the other. The program's Help feature is unhelpful, and none of the dedicated Publisher books I have bought go near the topic, yet I'm sure it is possible. Will someone out there please put me out of my misery!     - Spot Colors I am setting up a document for commercial printing / spot color, using Pub2002. I am using Black + one Pantone color. I selected Tools>Commercial Printing>Color Printing>Spot Color. In the box I see Black + the Pantone that I am using. However, in the area just below... "Colors to be used in Publication" are shown. Here I see in addition to my one Pantone + the Black; that Black also is shown as 50% tint of Black, and as 20% tint of Black.     - Screen Ruling Control Last week I changed OS on my PC from ME to XP Pro. Since then I have no control over the screen rulings in the photos used in Publisher sent to my post script printer (HP 1200se with PS driver) No matter what number I type in screen ruling dialog box (under print file) I get the same results (about 65 lines per inch) I tried downloading the lastest printer driver from HP but the results are always the same.     - Default Tab Stops change in Pub 2002 I just finished my first newsletter using Publisher. I was using a tab stop setting of .12 instead of .5. For some reason I haven't been able to pin down, the default would get reset to .5 with the result of text at the end of my text boxes getting pushed off the bottom. Resetting the tab stop to .12 would fix everything until the next time Publisher decided I really meant .5! Any clues about why this is happening would be much appreciated.     - Publisher 2002 and Brother 1850 I just upgraded to Pub 2002 on XP and have encountered the same printing problem with a Brother 1850 that other posters have noted. The printer accepts the job, then notes a paper size error. So far, everything has printed correctly by simply pressing the "GO" button on the printer. It's a pain, but it works. Has anyone found a better solution? I am using the latest PCL driver from Brother, and the Microsoft Knowledge base hasn't provided any help.     - Convert .PRN to Word or other program? Is there a program or something that can convert a PRN that has been created by publisher or any other program, into a type of file that can be manipulated or at least copied from and pasted to another medium? I'm in statement processing and I've received some data that is in PRN format and I need to find a way to read it and/or manipulate it into a format I can use. What I need to do is take the data that is in .prn format and manipulate what is within it prior to printing. I basically need to take what is in the .prn file and convert it into like a Word format so that I can take the pieces of the data and use my Statement Processing Mapping program to place them to into proper order.     - Publisher 2002 Last year we installed Publisher 2002 on our computers in our office. Before that we had Publisher 1998. Now when we open up a Publisher 1998 saved document on our Publisher 2002 program it messes up the lines and format of the 1998 format. It would take way to long to fix all of this mess.
