publisher 2000 free

i'm rebuilding a pc that has office 2000 and had ms publisher. it seems it
is/was a free program/addition to
office 2000? if that is so, where does one actually get it?
i've been googling but coming up with nothing 'for real'
been to ms website and have not found it there either.

Publisher, any version, was never free. Sometimes Publisher came bundled with
other software. Years ago it was bundled with HP printer software.

In addition to what Mary said, Publisher was on the second disk, if you
happen to still have it.

Publisher was included in the Professional & Premium suites, so if that's
what you have it should be on the source disks. Office 2000 Suite Standard
did not include Publisher.
