Hi,

I posted a while ago about this but cant find the thread, so here's a new
start. The problem is a file made on system 1, can't be opened by system
2. I didn't know the versions last time, and someone in the ng asked me for
them, but it turns out they are the same. See below. They gave me
additional info, but it's bios data. I don't think that has much to do
with software versions but I really don't know for sure.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

little further and she came up with differernt numbers:

System 1--SMBIOS Version 2.3

System 2...SMBIOS Version 2.2

System 1-BIOS Version date A 23, 1819 2003.

System 2-Award Software International, Inc. 4.51 PG 5/29/2000."

You don't say if you are talking about Publisher or the versions of each.

If you are talking about Publisher and the versions are the same, do both
systems have the service paks?, if there are any.

Hi Don,
Yes, it's publisher 2002, at least on the office machine. I went over
myself to check it
out. The version there is 10.3402.3501, SP-1
When Rich gets back I'll get the version he has and report back.
Thanks for your patience.

Finally! Here is the problem. The file was made on the 2002 version, and
he can't load it on his 2000 version.

Is there a way to translate a later version's file, to a previous version's
file?

Thanks Again,

Alby

Have whomever created it save it as a 2000 file. File, save as, files of type,
Publisher 2000.
If this is impossible, send it to me and I will convert it for you, remove "my" to
reply.

Thanks for the suggestion. Next time I'm over there I'll try it, and if I'm
not successfull you'll find it in your inbox someday.
