    - Problem editing Publisher 2003 document since last Office03 Update The problem is that a publication previously created, when opened can now no longer be edited. I can get a "select all" option for trying to copy into new publication, but "copy"/"save" etc are all greyed out. Any clues valued as to how I unlock.? On format tab for instamce every option greyed out except "Auto Fit". Recall publication was originally created in earlier version, 2000 I recall, but have always been able to edit since our IT dept upgraded earlier in year.     - Background Colour - RGB Is there anyway of finding out what RGB properties have been used in the background after the event? I know you can see the RGB as you build it but if you don't make a note of it, I cannot find a way of looking it up afterwards? Secondly, I want to cut out a section of a photo (three people) and sort of drape them over some wording so they look like they are leaning over the top of the headline. I can cut the images out using Magic Wand in Paint Shop Pro but when I put this in Publisher, I still have a background. All I want is the images with no background - i.e. just around the heads, arms, hands, etc. Not in a text box. Is there any way of achieving this?     - Colour gradient won't print I've recently installed Publisher 2003 and am having a great time with it. I'm in the process of putting a trifold together and have included a background box with a colour gradient in it. It looks great on my monitor but when I print it, it's a solid colour.     - reduce file size in Publisher I create our newsletter (usually 12-18 pages) in Publisher for printing. I then convert it to a PDF file with Primo PDF and send it to our website guy, who then puts it onto our site in PDF format. I use text boxes and graphics (including clip art, photos, and WordArt). How can I reduce the size of the "Publisher for print" document, either on creation or when converting to PDF? I tried saving the "for print" document in the web page format, but I lost all my text wrapping. It did make a 3761 kb reduction in size, but I want to keep the original layout.     - Installing Pub 2000 and Pub 2003 on same PC Joann or Brian -- Could you please walk through the SPECIFIC steps to install Pub 2000 and Pub 2003 side by side, so one does not overwrite the other? I saw previous post by Joann about how she and Brian both run multiple versions on their PCs without problems. But we ran into problems following the general advice given. Our club purchased freestanding versions of Pub 2003 and Pub 2000 for its newsletter editor, who needs both for various reasons. Pub 2003 was installed after Office 2003 was installed. Editor next tried to install Pub 2000. The editor's explanation of problems encountered during the install appears below. He would prefer I provide procedures rather than help him directly with the install.     - Pub refuses to word wrap Publisher refuses to word wrap. I am experienced with pub but I can not figure why it is doing this. I create a text box and leave the setting at their default (through, both sides). I enter text into the text box. I insert a jpg image, set its format layout properties to tight, both sides. After this, the text refuses to work wrap, all it does is move above or below the image. I have spent over an hour jacking around with the text box properties, changing the images order from back to front and everything else I can mess around with. What gets me I am editing an existing publication which has word wrap working just fine in the other text boxes. I mimic the settings and it still screws up. This problem only exists when I create new text box. Of course I am under the gun to get this publication finished and printed which must be why Pub has decided to hose me big time. This is a printer issue, might go to the manufacturer's web site and read the support
documents.
