Publisher File Expands upon printing and clogs up printer spool
When I go to print one of my student's publisher files,
say something along the lines of 86kb, I look into the
printer queu in windows and it says it is trying to print
a 25 mb file, and is obviously taking it's time doing so.
I looked into the knowledge base and it alluded to linked
files and of lowering the printer's resolution. We have a
HP 4100n. Any suggestions? Tag: publisher cannot open file Tag: 102942

transparency and tif files
Does any version of Publisher support transparency and tif files. I
use all CMYK tif files from Photoshop. Quark and Pagemaker support
this fine. Publisher 2000 doesn't seem to work very well at all (white
backgrounds). Do any of the newer versions have support for these
files (without having to convert them to a differenct format). I would
prefer to leave all graphics linked.

Hi,
Hoping someone might be able to help out here.
I want Publisher to get it's clip art from the gallery on

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Wife's Name On Templates
My wife created mailing labels and other documents and now her name and her
business name are on the labels, brochures, flyers and other doc templates

the templates to return to their blank defaults but no luck.
Are there registry hacks that have to be done? How do I fix this?

version 98 & 2000 new version wont print 98 files?
I have been a long time user of Publisher. It's my
favorite program.I do alot of flyers and articles for my
Methodist church, so purchased a newer version of
Publisher 2000 for church office. My idea was to copy
some of my created files so the secretary could just
click and update the date, prices, etc for the annual
events. I also wanted to be able to create articles for
the monthly newletter, email them so they could just be
popped into the newsletter publisher template I now have
them using. I copied some files took them and loaded on
chuch PC. They print on the laser printer but not on the
color hp ink jet we have.Isn't the updated version 2000
that the church has not going to let my 98 publisher file
print? thanks in advance.Dan Tag: publisher cannot open file Tag: 102858

Water mark / Wash out pictures
I'm using Outlook 2002, and I can't remember how I turned
one of my photos into a watermarked background to use as
stationery. I'm able to Format Background and Select
Picture, but then the picture is inserted multiple times
instead of one, and I can't find the tools to wash out the
picture. I've printed out the HELP on this, and it says
that there's an option to "click Printed Watermark" but
this is greyed out and not presenting itself as an
option. I know I've created watermarks before, and I know
it can be done through one of my Microsoft programmes, but
I just can't get there from here!! Thanks! Tag: publisher cannot open file Tag: 102840
PowerPoint
About 18 months ago, I purchased a twin processor Dell
420, and it kept crashing with PPT. I went up to third
level tech support at Dell and since I also installed
Windows XP, I had access to and talked to third level
tech support at Microsoft. In the end, Microsoft agreed
there was a problem with PPT, that caused the computer to
crash, and that they were not goint to fix it.
Since that time I have also purchased a twin processor
Dell computer, and of course PPT keeps on crashing. I
have XP, Office XP, and slides in files which range up to
150 slides per presentation. I also have slide files
[resource files] with slides up to 500 slides.
When is Microsoft going to make a PPT system that can
handle such massive files without crashing in a 2
processor system? I am not aware of even an update or
download that has even addressed the system. Maybe you
can enlighten me.
I know large group of people who make presentations as I
do with large quantites of slides, and they seem all to
have similar problems. I have long ago stopped sending
in reports to Microsoft on those crashes. Microsoft
expressed neither interest, nor concern about the level
of crashes. I have been at it for maybe 90 minutes today
with already 5 crashes.
What is the patch which will fix my problem, and stop
giving me fits of unhappiness?

Publisher Crashing
I recently started noticing that my Office applications
were crashing evrytime I would try to open or save them.
I reinstalled my Office w/frontpage, but Publisher was
seperate. That fixed the Office documents. No matter how
many times I reinstall Publisher it still crashes. It
only does it when I open an older file that was
previously on an older hard drive. In fact it does it to
any file that was made previous to this problem occuring.
It will let me make a whole new file, but no cooperation
on the old ones. Is this a virus? Is this something i
might have messed up by running my pest program and
deleting somethng I shouldn't have? I would really like
to solve this problem without re installing windows! Tag: publisher cannot open file Tag: 102818
Align text vertically
I'm using Pub 2002, and I'm ashamed to admit I can't figure out how to
"Align text vertically" in the text box. Obviously I'm going crazy, 'cause
I'm sure I've used this feature on previous editions of Publisher I've
owned. Please, someone, put me out of my misery (but not before answering
the question, please).

What happens if you create a new text box to contain the caption? Or if you
resize the current one to make it larger? Or if you use the On-Screen
Keyboard (Windows XP Only)?

Nope. But you may be able to create two worksheet objects and point one to
the first half, one to the second half.

Can't you create your text boxes yourself? Or change the text box that

This is due to the way that Publisher handles multiple copies. I suggest
that you try and get your printer driver to handle the multiple copies,
rather than setting them in Publisher.
