    - re install Pub 2000 problem. Hello and I hope I'm In the right newsgroup. My problem is I've had to re install my Office 2000 Disc2 and now when I want to start publisher the message box tells me I am trying to access a program that needs the cd. When I installed it, I checked for Publiher to "run all from my computer" I've un installed and re installed, still need disc. what am I doing wrong?     - Calendar Formatting I am using Publisher 2003 to create a monthly calendar that I would like to print in ladscape mode. The days of the calendar has text that discribe what will be happening on that day. Is there a way to one, change the format of the text for all days of the calendar at once and two, change the dimensions of the boxes for each day so they are all of the same height and width at once? In other words I would like to change the properties of one of the days of the week and apply those same properties to the rest of the days of the week on the calendar without having to change the properties of each day one at a time. When I print them on avery labels (8871- 10 on a page) the top 2 are perfect but as the page goes down, the printing on the cards go up about 1/16 of a inch.     - Need help saving a file! Well let me start off by saying that I feel lost using the Office 97 programs! I had to make a new resume so I got myself a template off of the site here. It opened up in publisher so that's where I created my resume. I've put a lot of time into it and now realize that I think I made a huge mistake!     - Line up text with baseline guide AND have space between paragraphs I have text boxes with multiple columns and I want to vertically align the lines of text across columns, which I've done by aligning my body text style to the baseline guides. But I also want a space between each paragraph that is smaller than a whole line spacing (in Word it would be 12pt font with space after paragraph = 6pt). I have tried adjusting my baseline guide spacings and my style paragraph settings to every possible combination but I can't seem to achieve this. Settings currently are: body text = TNR 10pt, line spacing 10pt baseline guide = spacing = 13pt, offset = 0 This gives me the spacing I want and it's all nicely lined up, but I have no extra space between paragraphs. Now, M$, as is its wont, has encased the images and clips inside proprietary 'sbs' and 'sbt' archives (it's the former that actually contain the needed - the latter just look like some kind of 'pointer' file). So, I suppose my question is twofold: - 1) Can I persuade PI to open its own projects and/or 2) Is there any way of extracting the images from within the 'shoebox' files (I did find something called 'xtractor.exe' but that doesn't appear to want to run outside of PIP ('unable to decompress the package due to corrupt archive.' I've no idea what it means by 'corrupt archive' - I assume it's referring to itself). I am attempting to design a flyer for a friend's chocolaterie - and am wanting to do it the lazy way!     - mail merge troubleshooting I am looking for troubleshooting help in Publisher 2003 mail merge. We are trying to add mailing addresses to a full color 4 page 8 1/2 x 11 booklet. Original booklet file is 13 MG. 300 Addresses are in an Excel file. I have tried 2 different excel files. We got this to work once for 1/2 the list before it quit. In November I got it to work, albeit slowly, and 10 addresses at a time. I have since had the registry fix installed and double-checked by our IT dept. Since the registry fix, I cannot print the file, or pdf it with anything involving a merge. I also tried to cancel the merge. Since I cancelled the merge, the merge wizard is greyed out. Any suggestions? I have searched the Help files and the forums; The past week I have tried everything I can think of. Am working off my desktop; Also tried renamings, re-copying original, etc. Is there a Bible on Publisher merges that goes indepth?     - Cannot access a Publisher doc without my printserver being on I can start up my Publisher program but cannot access a doc, either new template or an active one, without having my print server turned on. As publisher boots up, it looks for the print server and if it doesn't see it across my wireless lan, it gives me a msg that it can't find it. It brings up Publisher and when I open a doc, I get a Microsoft error and the program shuts down and starts a loop of opening, producing the err msg, & shutting down.     - PbSaveOptions.pbSaveChanges causes exception I'm trying to automate the daily updating of my company's price list, which is a publisher file, programmatically. Lots of details I will probably have to ask about later, but the problem I'm having now is that I can't open my publisher file using the Application Open() function with the PbSaveOptions.pbSaveChanges option set. My code looks like this: Application pubApp = new Application(); Document availabilityDoc = pubApp.Open(availListFile, false, false, PbSaveOptions.pbSaveChanges); where 'availListFile' is a string holding the path and filename of the file I want to open. It's on the local c: drive. It compiles fine but at runtime I get the exception "Value does not fall within the expected range." If I change pbSave Changes to either of the other two options, 'pbPromptToSaveChanges' or 'pbDoNotSaveChanges', I don't get that exception. However, I really do want my changes saved when I close the document, and because I want it to execute automatically in the middle of the night, I don't want to have to answer a prompt. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and I've referenced MS Publisher 12.0 Object library. If it matters, I've got MS Publisher 2007 loaded on my machine. I don't think it's a permissions issue as I've opened everything up, both the file and the folder it's in, so there shouldn't be an access issue.     - the correct program This is by no means a bash against MS Publisher. I am working with a client that is assembling hundreds of reports utilizing MS Publisher. These are intricate financial reports with tables, graphs, charts etc. that are many pages long, so it is by nature a very intense procedure. The information comes mainly from Excel workbooks by way of copy and paste. This has been an OK procedure but the fact remains that to insert a page...redo page numbers and deal with the idiocincracies of ever changing information have made this a nightmarish duty to say the least. Would someone at least give me an idea if my theory is correct that MS Word would be a better choice in this case for it's very robust nature and ability to deal with the challenges of long documents over MS Publisher. It has been working but there are many advantages I see that point to the use of Word in this case. Please make your suggestions good, bad and ugly.     - Publisher 2003 Bug with aligning at angles? I made a 3.75" diameter circle and then put more circles inside, each one 0.25" smaller in diameter all the way down to 1.25". Then I drew angle lines across the diameter of the largest circle, every 7.5 degrees, all around the circle. I made little rectangles 5mm X 2mm in size and placed them along the bottom half of the circle where each of the angle lines and the 3.5" circle intersect (Each of the small rectangles was also rotated to the same angle as the previously drawn lines that span the diameter of the circles). I then selected the rectangles on the bottom half of the circle and copied them. I pasted a copy of the rectangles and grouped them. Then I flipped the group vertically. When I tried to align the group of rectangles to the top half of the circle, I found that the little rectangles are out of alignment and are not where the angle lines and 3.5" diameter circle intersect. is this a bug? or did I do something wrong.     - Help with not enough memory error message on Publisher 2007 My company purchased new computer with Office 2007 suite. Computer has XP Pro with 3 GB Ram. As I have been using Publisher, I have received two error messages. #1 - "Cannot complete this operation" when I try to print a document a second or third time- the first time I can print, then it "disconnects" from the printer. #2 - I received an error message today that says, "There is not enough memory to complete this operation. To make more memory available, close other programs and try again." I am confused as to why this is happening. My old computer was XP Home edition and I used Publisher 2003 without any problems.     - Publisher 2007 Print preview Hello, I am using Publisher 2007 to create a booklet. I have 2 questions. The booklet pages are 4.25" x 5.5". The layout I'm using is Booklet and Portrait Orientation. The paper size is 8.5" x 11". I have inserted page numbers; however, when viewing the booklet in Print Preview, I do not see the page number on the bottom half of the 8.5" x 11" sheet even though there are four 4.25"x 5.5" pages showing. The Page Setup Window says "Prints two pages per sheet of paper." My questions are: 1) is it possible to print 4 pages on an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper with the dimensions of the booklet pages noted above, and 2) why am I not able to see the page numbers in Print Preview of the two booklet pages on the lower half of the 8.5 x 11 sheet. At some point during its creation it began changing from page to page really, really slowly (maybe 20 seconds). The file does not have many graphics -- it is mostly text. Are you sure you didn't copy the picture from the Internet or the Office Clipart
site? Can you open the file that contains the picture? If you can open the
Graphics Manager in the Tools drop down menu, it will have some information
about the image.
